Motoyoshi Okamura raised the button to 400,000 and Rafael Mota defended the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and both players checked to see the {a-Spades} turn. Mota fired a bet of 500,000 and was quickly called.

The {6-Hearts} completed the board and Mota led out again for the same bet of 500,000 before Okamura raised to 1,400,000 which was called fairly quickly. Okamura tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades} for a straight to the eight and took down the pot.

Mota Takes Some Back

Motoyoshi Okamura raised the button to 350,000 and Rafael Mota called.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Mota check-called a bet of 300,000.

The {6-Hearts} was the turn and Mota check-called once again, this time the bet was 1,000,000.

The {3-Spades} river was checked down and Mota tabled {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a pair of queens to scoop the pot.

Okamura Puts Mota to the Test

Rafael Mota limped before Motoyoshi Okamura raised to 500,000. Mota made the call.

On the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop, both players checked to see the {a-Hearts} turn. Okamura check-called a bet of 500,000 and the {2-Clubs} hit the river. Okamura checked once again and Mota fired in a bet of 1,000,000. Okamura took about three seconds before announcing he was all-in. Mota mucked his hand.

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and gave Okamura aces and kings, which was good against Yunis' aces and threes. Yunis was eliminated in third place.

Okamura and Rafael Mota went immediately into heads-up play with the former holding a slight chip lead.

Rafael Mota raised the small blind to 380,000 and Motoyoshi Okamura wasted no time putting in a raise to 1,400,000. Mota thought it over for about ten seconds and made the call.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and once Mota checked Okamura instantly put in a bet of 900,000 and Mota wasn't done with the hand yet as he put in the chips to call.

The {a-Diamonds} hit the river and Mota checked once again to Okamura who snap-bet 2,000,000 chips which forced Mota to surrender.

Kornuth reached Day 6 of poker's world championship event with a big stack and is in contention for the $8 million prize.

Chris Brewer, an up-and-coming high roller, felt Kornuth's actions in a Day 5 hand deserved a penalty.

The flop of {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} saw Mota lead for 200,000 and Okamura call.

The turn brought the {4-Spades} which got a check from Mota and a bet from Okamura of 400,000 which Mota promptly called.

The river came the {7-Diamonds} and Mota bet 1,300,000 which Okamura called. Mota showed {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades} for a pair of sevens and Okamura showed {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for aces and nines to take down the pot.
