Eli Elezra, Barry Greenstein Headline Day 3 of $1,000 Seniors Championship

After two starting flights and a 10-hour Day 2, just 148 out of a field of 5,404 players have made it here to Day 3 of Event #52: $1,000 Seniors Championship.

The player in the best position heading into the day is David Kluchman, who built up a massive stack of 2,745,000. Only April Facey with 2,330,000 is within one million of Kluchman's chip lead.

Among the pack that will try to catch Kluchman today are Eli Elezra (1,515,000) and Barry Greenstein (810,000). Others still with a chance on Day 3 include Allen Kessler (325,000) and bracelet winners Pat Lyons (745,000), Adrian Moreno (530,000), and Antonin Teisseire (470,000).

The final 148 players will resume play at 10 a.m. PST in the Amazon Room. Day 3 will consist of 10 hour-long levels, with a 60-minute dinner break following Level 29 around 7 p.m.

They've already survived a massive starting field to get this far. By the end of the day, the 50-and-over club will be that much closer to winning the WSOP bracelet and $662,594 first prize.

Jordison Pulls Ahead, Norman Hits the River

Facey Busts in Massive Three-Way All In

Kennedy ended up with a set as the board ran out , cracking both of his opponent's pocket aces. He doubled up through Quijano, while Facey, who began the day second in chips, busted.

"Don't see that every day," a tablemate said.

Lyons Scoops a Monster

Brian Nierkerk raised under the-gun to 80,000 and from the cutoff, Dana Katzenmeier went all-in for 315,000. Pat "World Famous," Lyons in the big blind thought about it briefly before calling the all-in. Niekerk re-raised all-in for 900,000 which Lyons snap-called and all cards were tabled.

The board ran out and Lyons' aces held as he won a pot worth nearly 2 million chips, eliminated Katzenmeier and left Nierkerk with 90,000 in chips.

The very next hand, Lyons called the small blind and Nierkerk checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came out and Lyons checked and Nierkerk shoved for 25,000. Lyons called and the cards were tabled.

Kluchman Takes Another Hit, Doubles Novak

David Kluchman raised to 125,000 pre-flop before Steven Powers three-bet to 400,000 from the button. In the small blind, Ross Novak shoved for 620,000.

Kluchman then re-shoved and Powers took his time before folding.

David Kluchman was seen standing up at his table with no more chips in front of him as his stack was taken away by the dealer.

He appeared to be on the wrong end of a cooler as his lost to the of Jonathan Ingalls when the board ran out .

According to the table he had been the victim of a few other coolers, including pocket queens vs pocket kings among others, to lose his once big stack in the span of one level.

Elezra Doubles

Hansen Gets Revenge on Floyd

A few hands after Russ Floyd doubled off Todd Hansen, the two engaged in a blind versus blind battle.

According to Pat Lyons, action folded to Hansen in the small blind who put Floyd all in. Floyd called with but was dominated by the of Hansen.

The board ran out and Floyd was eliminated.

"Get me out of here!" Floyd yelled, still smiling as he made his way to the payout desk.
