Rico Cuevas Eliminated in 8th Place ($3,478)

Nível 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Rico Cuevas
Rico Cuevas

Chris Minton opened the action with a raise to 120,000 before Rico Cuevas re-raised all in for his last 315,000. Minton made the call with {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} while Cuevas showed {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

Cuevas needed his hand to hold to stay alive and he remained ahead when the board came out {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}. The river, though, brought the {a-Spades}, giving Minton top pair and ending Cuevas' tournament in eighth place.

Ronald Baltazar Eliminated in 9th Place ($2,727)

Nível 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Ronald Baltazar
Ronald Baltazar

Ronald Baltazar moved his short stack of 160,000 into the middle from early position. It folded to James Barnett who re-shoved his big stack and got everyone else out of the pot.

Baltazar held the {7-Spades}{6-Spades}, Barnett had the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

The board would run out the {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} to end Baltazar's run in ninth place.

"The title of best dressed at the table is now back up for grabs!" said one of the players with a smile, as Baltazar and his multi-color shirt departed.

Justin Steinman

James Barnett raised to 115,000 and Justin Steinman re-raised all in for around 400,000. Barnett made the call with {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}, while Steinman showed a dominated {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

There would be no help for Steinman this time, as the board came {2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}, pairing Barnett's queen and sending the one-time chip leader to the rail one off the official final table.

Barnett moves to around two million to begin the final table with that knockout.

Garrett Doubles Up

Nível 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Bryan Garrett moved all in from early position preflop for 460,000. It folded to Danny Chang in the small blind who called it.

Chang was looking for the knockout as he held the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. Garrett had the {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, wanting the board to stay clean for the fours.

The flop came the {2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. The turn was the {10-Spades} and the river came the {9-Clubs} to give Garrett the big time double up.

Schmidt Doubles Through Steinman in Biggest Pot of the Tournament

Nível 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Bobby Schmidt
Bobby Schmidt

Bobby Schmidt raised to 85,000 from early position and Justin Steinman three-bet to 215,000 two seats over.

Schmidt made the call and they went heads-up to a flop of {5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Schmidt checked and Steinman continued for 225,000. Schmidt then raised all in for 800,000 more, putting Steinman to the test. Steinman looked pained by the decision, rechecking his cards and letting out a loud sigh.

"Sorry guys," he said to the table.

Steinman eventually called after three minutes and showed {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Schmidt turned over {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for top pair and needed to hold for a huge double up.

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and Schmidt took over the chip lead with 1,900,000. "Let's go," he yelled as he ran toward the rail.

Steinman, who began the unofficial final table as the chip leader, dropped down to 410,000.

Steinman Catches Schmidt Bluffing

Nível 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Justin Steinman and Bobby Schmidt were engaged in a blind vs. blind battle that ended with Steinman winning a big pot.

Steinman bet 80,000 on a {q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop and Schmidt called from the big blind. Steinman fired again on the {3-Spades} turn, this time for 130,000. Schmidt again called.

The river brought the {9-Spades} and Steinman slowed down by checking. Schmidt bet out 180,000 and Steinman eventually found the call after a brief tank.

"You win," Schmidt said as he flung his cards in the muck. Steinman showed {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for two pair.
