News From 2019 World Series Of Poker: June 29

It’s Saturday 29th June and here’s everything you need to know about what is happening at the 2019 World Series Of Poker.

Phillip Hui won his second bracelet in the very prestigious $50,000 Poker Players Championship late last night. He battled with Josh Arieh for the best part of 5 hours with the chip lead swapping over several times. This was Hui’s second WSOP bracelet and his biggest live tournament score at $1,099,311.

The $1500 PLO Hi-Lo 8 or better event finished yesterday with Anthony Zinno taking down his second bracelet and $279,920. . I managed to catch Anthony after his win and we talked about how he managed to multi table two live tournaments here at the WSOP and somehow final table both of them.

The $600 Deepstack also finished yesterday with Joe Foresman winning his first WSOP Bracelet and almost $400,000 to go along with it. In fact not only was this Foresman’s first bracelet, can you believe that this was also his first ever live career cash?! Not a bad way to start your Hendon Mob profile!

13,109 players started in the $400 Colossus just a few days ago but today only 107 of those will return to play down to a winner. William Davila will be coming in to the day as the chip leader as he looks to capture his first WSOP bracelet. Davila’s only previous tournament cash was actually in the $600 deepstack event that I just spoke about. He came 749th in that for $984 so I’m sure he will be licking his lips at the $451,272 that awaits the winner in the Colossus.

The $10,000 Razz Championship will conclude today, yesterday saw 12 players remaining with only Scott Seiver and Andrew Zhigalov surviving the day. This means that these two players are returning today to battle Heads Up for a WSOP bracelet and $301,421 that awaits the winner. Daniel Negreanu had a pretty insane run as he finished in 5th which now means that any investors in his mid stakes WSOP package have locked themselves a profit with a few more events to come for the rest of the summer.

The $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better continues today. Yesterday saw 151 players enter for Day 1 and 115 will be returning today. With registration open until the start of the day we expect a few more to be taking their seat. There are still plenty of bracelet winners in the mix including 5 time bracelet winner Jason Mercier, 2005 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Hachem & receiver of the ultimate poker bad beat ‘Bryce Yockey’. Bryce played a hand yesterday in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship in Limit 2-7 Triple Draw where he was a 99.84% favourite and still managed to lose.

The $1,500 Omaha Mix is down to the final 38 players. They will be returning today to play down to a final 6 which will then be finished tomorrow. Blake Schwartzbach bagged the overnight chip lead and he will be looking to win his first bracelet. Phil Laak and 2013 WSOP Main Event champion Ryan Reiss will also be taking their seats today.

The $888 Crazy Eights tournament has another Day 1 flight today. Yesterday saw a combined total of 2,865 players enter two separate flights. 329 of those players have bagged so far but with another two flights to go we imagine that number will at least double. Melanie Weisner, Calvin Anderson & James Dempsey are a few of the notable names that will be returning on Monday for Day 2.

Also kicking off today is the $1500 Limit Hold’em event. Last year Robert Nehorayan won this event for his first WSOP bracelet and $170,000. There are only three Limit Hold’em Events this series so as with last year we expect many big names to take a shot in this tournament.
