WSOP GGpoker
WSOP GGpoker

The next tournament of the 2020 GGPoker World Series of Poker Online Bracelet Events set to play down to a champion is Event #55: HK$8,000 NLHE Asia Championship. Featuring several starting days for players from all over the world to secure their seat for the final day, the tournament attracted a total field of 3,247 entries and 479 survivors return for a shot of the HK$24,677,200 prize pool (~$3,208,036).

Only 404 of them will make the cut to earn at least HK$19,255.61 (~$2,503) for their efforts and the early stages are expected to provide tons of action as the field is whittled down towards the money bubble. The returning blinds will be 5,000-10,000 with a big blind ante of 1,000 and the current average stack is just shy of 34 big blinds. All levels will last 20 minutes each until the final table is set, at which time all real names are revealed and 30 hands are played for each blind level.

A duo from China sits atop the leaderboard in "twotimekid" (1,336,811) and "jnandez875" (1,138,630) whereas GGPoker streamer Michiel "Easterdamnz" Van Elsacker follows in third place with 1,137,913. Another three players have a stack of seven digits to their name including Simon Higgins (1,053,289), Pedro "WhyNotChili" Ivars (1,025,879) and Pranay "setmeup" Chawla (1,005,012).

Several top pros, well-known grinders and WSOP bracelet winners also made the cut such as Samuel Vousden (955,077), Ranno "RukKuRuku" Sootla (936,608), Martin Zamani (806,276), Craig "Goblue" Varnell (795,546), Jack Salter (700,428), Joao "naturalMENTE" Simao (676,922), Parker Talbot (640,079), Rainer Kempe (636,988), Brandon Adams (599,313), and Joao Vieira (480,898 ) to name a few of those well above the average.

Six-time WSOP bracelet winner and GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu returns with a stack of 353,322, and further multiple bracelet winners in contention are Kahle Burns (291,680), Kristen Bicknell (270,892), Yuri Dzivielevski (178,079) and Erik Seidel (66,575).

Stay tuned to find out who adds another WSOP cash to their name and makes a deep run for the coveted gold bracelet as the PokerNews live reporting team will aim to capture as many key moments as possible from start to finish.

Ruida Busts In a Big Pot

Nível 1 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Lin Ruida Eliminated
Lin Ruida Eliminated

In a three-bet pot to 60,000 preflop, no action happened on the {k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop and Lin Ruida then bet the {10-Spades} turn and jammed the {6-Spades} river for nearly 40 blinds against Sebastian "flashlight99" Mueller. Ruida tabled {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} for kings up but Mueller had the best of it with {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for tens full.

The Bubble has Burst

Nível 2 : 6,000/12,000, 1,200 ante

There were several all-in and call at multiple tables and three players busted while as many doubled.

"CallMePognon" doubled through Yuri Dzivielevski with {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} versus {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} in a battle big blind versus button and the board ran out {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Thai Ha was all-in with the {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} out of the big blind and Sebastian "Mustlaaaveit" Sikorski tabled the {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} on the button. The board came {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Ha doubled.

Arguably the most exciting hand involved a super short stacked Tyler "stakekings" Hancock who had 0.1 big blinds and won a three-way pot with {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} against the {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} of Brock Wilson, Bela "Teemo2018" Toth folded to a bet by Wilson on the {10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{q-Clubs} river.

That was the good news. The bad ones include the eliminations of Simon "Fireburns" Burns, Bradley "DrStrange7" Ruben and Fyodor "niabios" Shatokhin. Burns had the shortest stack and was crowned bubble boy as Ruben and Shatokhin min-cashed.

Fast forward a few moments and Derek Ip was at risk from under the gun, he found a caller in Vincent "Peleus34" Li from the big blind.

Derek Ip: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

"Schen" raised to 100,000 from early position and Dinesh "NastyMinder" Alt three-bet shoved all in for 704,778. Back on "Schen" he called it off but was way behind.

The river was peeled agonizingly slowly before revealing the case {5-Spades} to improve "Schen" to quads and eliminate Alt from the tournament.
