Quads for Di Pego

Nível 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

With 8,500 in the middle and the flop showing {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Sergio Di Pego from under the gun faced a check-raise by the player in the small blind and pushed all in. The other two cold callers had already folded and the small blind was sent into a world of pain.

"You gotta have aces there, you haven't played a hand in ages," he agonized. More table chat followed and eventually the clock was called. Once the small blind was given 30 seconds to act, he called all in for around 35,000 and Di Pego rolled over {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} for top set.

The small blind turned over {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} for bottom set and the {9-Spades} turn and {a-Hearts} river run out gave Di Pego quads. Both took out their smartphones to snap a picture of the cards and board.

Saout vs. Cimbolas

Nível 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

On a board of {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Spades}{j-Diamonds} with around 9,000 in the middle, Matas Cimbolas bet out 3,000 from the big blind only to have Antoine Saout from the button bump it to 8,000.

Cimbolas called, and then checked the {q-Diamonds} on the river. Saout bet out 20,500 and Cimbolas went deep into the tank for several minutes.

"I have one of the best bluff catchers," stated Cimbolas in the direction of Saout. The Frenchman didn't budge.

Another minute went by, and Cimbolas mucked.

Mermelstein Can't Beat Fourth Pair

Nível 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Two-time WPT Champions Club member Aaron Mermelstein opened with an early position raise and was met with a call from the big blind.

The flop landed {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs} and the big blind led out for 1,200 and Mermelstein called.

The {q-Clubs} and {2-Clubs} checked through on the turn and river, and the big blind tabled his {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Mermelstein mucked.

Marbut Coolers Nikolaou

Nível 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

The turn was out with {6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{j-Clubs} on show. Nick Nikolaou had bet 10,000 into the pot and was facing a 64,000 re-raise all in from Trenton Marbut. It was a tough spot for Nikolaou who started to work his way through the hand, narrating his thoughts as he did so. He seemed puzzled how the turn was of help to Marbut and made the call.

Trenton Marbut: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Nick Nikolaou: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

It was set vs set for Nikolaou and only the case seven would save him, instead the river bricked the {9-Clubs}. He was left very short and busted a few hands later, whilst Marbut is on the up.

Garcia Dusted in Two Brutal Hands

Nível 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Gary Patanjo, a player Cord Garcia's former table told us the tale of two hands that sent Garcia's stack from six-figures to zero in a matter of minutes.

The first, and largest hand, saw Garcia get his stack in with a set of sixes against a player holding the nut flush draw. A spade on the turn and a brick river sent most of Garcia's stack out of his hands, leaving him with around 25,000.

A few hands later, those chips went in preflop with ace-king against the ace-queen of Patanjo. Garcia found himself unlucky again, as Patanjo binked a queen to send Garcia packing in the final level of Day 1b.

Ferguson Gets Counterfeit

Nível 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

The action folded around to Chris Ferguson on the button who raised to 1,500, Michael Fraser called in the small blind and the big blind folded.

The flop came {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, Fraser check-called Ferguson's bet of 1,600 and the {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Fraser check-called another bet from Ferguson, this time for 3,500. On the {2-Hearts} river both players checked, Fraser tabled {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for aces and twos while Ferguson tabled the losing {q-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Fraser scooped the pot.

Aldemir Saves Chips on the River

Nível 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

There was a limp from the hijack and Koray Aldemir also limped in on the button. The small blind made it 2,600 to go and both the hijack and Aldemir called. The flop fell {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and the action checked to Aldemir who bet 3,400. Only the hijack called to see the {8-Clubs} on the turn.

He checked again and Aldemir fired out a bet of 8,500. His opponent still called and the {6-Diamonds} completed the board. Both players knuckled the table and the hijack turned over {8-Spades}{6-Clubs} for a straight draw that turned to two pair. Aldemir was left shaking his head as he dumped his cards to the muck.

Gordon Vayo
Gordon Vayo

Gordon Vayo raised the cutoff and Igor Zektser three-bet out of the small blind to 4,800, which Vayo called. On the {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop, Zekster continued for 5,100 and Vayo came along before calling a second barrel of 12,200 on the {4-Hearts} turn. The {10-Diamonds} on the river was checked by Zekster and Vayo checked behind.

Zekster turned over {a-Spades}{3-Spades} and Vayo won the pot with {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}.
