One Bustout One Double Through: Back-to-back on Action Table 522

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Daniel Nguyen is now playing a stack of 1,160,000 after eliminating Gary Burrell. The pot itself was over 800,000 and the only hand still visible was Nguyen's winning pocket kings.

The next hand, Joshua Thibodaux raised under the gun to 35,000 and utg+1 Nicholas Tamburo moved all in for 223,000. It folded back around to Thibodaux, who made the call with {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Tamburo had {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and held up over a {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} board.

Sauve Cracks Aces and Kings in Four-Way All-In

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Daniel Sauve's tournament has taken a dramatic turn for the better, after his pocket eights scooped a huge all-in pot. With just over six big blinds, Sauve was the shortest of the all-in players, and up against {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and {q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. The flop was the rainbow {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, the turn the {2-Diamonds} and then one of two eights left in the deck came down on the river: {8-Clubs}.

"Woowooowoo!" exclaimed Sauve who had presumably resigned himself to an exit.

"The same thing happened to me yesterday!" he said, furiously texting while the rest of the table discussed the hand in animated (but friendly) fashion. "I sucked out hard, but I had six big blinds - what can I do?"

Kuba Takes Down a Nice Pot

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

A player under the gun raised to 42,000 and it folded around to Martin Kuba on the button who made the call.

The flop came {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and the player under the gun made a continuation bet of 40,000 and again Kuba made the call.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and it was checked around.

On the river the {j-Hearts} and the player under the gun bet 60,000. Kuba went all in and the player under the gun mucked exposing the {a-Clubs} and Kuba exposed the {j-Diamonds} but more importantly Kuba still alive in this one.

Zhu's Stack Rockets After His Ace-Queens Bust Two Players in a Row

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Andrew Zhu
Andrew Zhu

Andrew Zhu leaps in amongst the top of the chip counts courtesy of playing A-Q twice in a row. First up, he eliminated a player by catching an ace on the river, having called his opponent with overcards on the flop. Whatever pair had just been cracked (the dealer had started shuffling the next hand), his opponent was not happy about it.

"Calling with ace-queen! I only had sixty behind - you've got to know what was going to happen. Don't justify bad play!"

"It's pretty normal play," a tablemate quietly said in Zhu's defense (Zhu was quiet throughout), "He's got two overcards and a paired board."

The very next hand, an early position player open-jammed for 275,000. Zhu, still stacking from the previous win, made the call.

Zhu: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

The flop brought {9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and there was no help for fives on the {2-Clubs}{10-Spades} turn and river.

Erik Seidel Eliminated in Four-Way Clash

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

While all remaining tables were already on their 45-minute break, a long hand played out on one of the tables near the rail, drawing a sizable crowd as eight-time bracelet winner Erik Seidel was involved in the action.

It was Jose Preciado who opened up with a raise to 50,000. Erik Seidel called all in for his final 27,000, Dave Alfa called, and Ken Saito called as well. All players quickly tapped the table on the {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop.

Saito, having just 48,000 behind, shoved all in when the turn came the {8-Diamonds}. Preciado called, while Alfa pitched his cards in the muck. With two players at risk and no more action, the three hands were on their backs.

Erik Seidel: {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Ken Saito: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Jose Preciado: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Saito was ahead with two pair sevens and eights while Seidel needed a non-diamond deuce to save his tournament life. The river, however, brought the {10-Hearts} to pair Preciado's ten for a bigger two pair and give him the double-knockout.
