Alex Scattareggia Eliminated in 18th Place (4,638)

Nível 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Alex Scattareggia
Alex Scattareggia

Action on the table folded to Alex Scattareggia who opened with a raise from late position, Lu Chen three-bet from the small blind, Scattareggia jammed and Chen snap-called.

Alex Scattareggia: {a-}{k-}
Lu Chen: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Scattareggia had Chen dominated and looked good after the {7-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Spades} flop.

The turn brought the {9-Clubs} and Scattareggia had one card left before he took a dent out of the chip leader.

Unfortunately for Scattareggia, he ran into Chen's hot streak as the river fell the {j-Clubs} giving Chen two-pair and Scattareggia was eliminated from the tournament.

Day 2 of Event #71: $500 Salute To Warriors is set to kick off today at 12 noon local time. Day 1 of this brand-new WSOP event attracted 1,723 total entries and only 287 players remain with a shot to take the $121,161 first-place prize, along with a coveted WSOP gold bracelet.

Day 2 action won't take long for players to reach the money, as 259 players will be walking away with a minimum cash of $699, meaning just eight people need to bust out, so there will be drama from the very first card. Leading the way is Dominique Terzian who bagged a massive 801,000 chips at the end of Day 1 and has a sizable lead over his opponents. Garry Stevens-Smith comes in second (572,000), followed by Michael Nosek (517,000), Jordan Knackstedt (480,500), and Stanislav Angelov (391,000) round up the top five stacks.

The Salute To Warriors event attracted some of the best players in the world to its field, and some notables returning for Day 2 include Ben Yu (370,500), Mike Sexton (300,000), and Aaron Johnson (137,500), who will look to chip up and make a deep run today. Ben Yu may still harbour hopes of a Player of the Year banner bearing his name in 12 months time. If so, he could do with points here in this event.

Day 2 starts today at 12 noon local time, with action picking up on level 16 where blinds are 2,500/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante. Play is scheduled to play down to the final 6 players, with blind levels lasting 40-minutes. Players will receive a 15-minute break after every 3 levels with a 60-minute dinner break after the 9th level.

Stay tuned as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand throughout the day bringing you all of the updates of this historical event.
