Ivo Donev Eliminated in 8th Place ($16,075)

Ivo Donev

Omaha Hi-Lo

Alan Sternberg raised in the first position, Ivo Donev three-bet, and Sternberg called. Sternberg called on the {5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop again and then called for his last 30,000 on the {2-Spades} turn. Donev held {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Spades} but Sternberg's {8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} held on a blank river and he doubled.

On the next hand, Donev raised and Sternberg put him all in.

Donev: {k-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Sternberg: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Sternberg made a Broadway to bust Donev short of the final table.

Big O

Yueqi Zhu raised to 60,000 from middle position and saw Alan Sternberg raise to 220,000 from the hijack. Zhu called when the action folded back around to him, and they went heads-up to a {k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop.

Zhu bet pot which was enough to out Sternberg all in and the latter called.

Yueqi Zhu: {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Alan Sternberg: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Zhu had found two pair on the flop, and when the turn {10-Diamonds} and river {5-Clubs} fell, Sternberg was unable to catch up and saw his deep run come to an end in 7th place for $21,582.

Iori Yogo

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Yueqi Zhu raised to 90,000 from the cutoff, and Iori Yogo called on the button.

The flop fell {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and Zhu saw his 150,000 continuation bet called by Yogo.

Zhu slowed down on the {2-Diamonds} turn and saw Yogo bet pot for 440,000. Zhu had his eyes locked on the board for close to a minute and contemplated his next move before he called, and when the river revealed the {4-Clubs}, he snap moved all in.

Yogo was covered by some margin and had 330,000 behind. The Japanese player sat on his decision for 30 seconds but opted to call and put his tournament life on the line.

Zhu tabled {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, and Yogo conceded he was beaten by standing from the table and revealing {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Yogo takes away $29,518 for his efforts, as Zhu moves up to 3,000,000.

Big O

[Removed:146] raised to 125,000 from the cutoff, and Yueqi Zhu called from the button. Aron Dermer then put his final 240,000 into the middle from the big blind, and both players called.

The board fell {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{j-Spades}, and both Guerfi and Zhu checked through to showdown.

Guerfi tabled {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and took the whole pot with a full house after both Dermer and Zhu mucked.

Dermer takes away $41,112 for his efforts.

Defending Champ Zhu Among Final Four in $1,500 Omaha Mix, Zyrin Leads

Nível 30 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Yueqi Zhu
Yueqi Zhu

It's a rarity to talk about back-to-back-to-back final tables, but Yueqi Zhu has proved once again that the $1,500 Omaha Mix could once be called Zhu Invitational. This is the third year that it has been featured among bracelet events and Zhu has been to the final table each time.

Following his sixth place in 2017, Zhu came out on top last year to nab his first WSOP wristwear (along with $211,781). Now he's defending his title as fiercely as he can.

Zhu is bidding for the gold again, making a solid wager towards the $199,838 prize reserved for the winner of this year's 771-strong contest.

Zhu has already made it to the top four and he will come back for the final day second in chips (2,735,000), trailing only Anatolii Zyrin (3,330,000).

Zyrin has been the most active player on the final table, contesting the majority of the pots. He was able to double his stack in the final two levels of the night, with the blinds and limits increasing.

The high limits might be the biggest concern for [Removed:146] (1,960,000) and, even more so, for James Van Alstyne (585,000). Former bracelet winner Van Alstyne nursed a short stack for most of the play at the final table, but he was always able to find a double in the critical moments. He will have to go through some early spins tomorrow if he wants to be a serious challenger for the title.

With the 120,000/240,000 limits coming up next, every pot is getting more and more important. A couple of scoops might drastically change the landscape of the leaderboard as there are only 36 big bets left in play.

It is virtually guaranteed that the home stretch will be a question of a few hours, so come back to PokerNews at 2 p.m. PDT for the final session as the $1,500 Mixed Omaha is only three eliminations away from crowning its champion.
