Mahmood Can't Catch Eyster

Ayaz Mahmood got his last 16,500 in on a board from the big blind, and Kevin Eyster quickly called to put him at risk from the hijack.

Eyster did indeed turn a bigger set, but Mahmood still had outs to win or chop with going to the river with a gutshot to chop and a flush draw and quads draw to come from behind and win with. Unfortunately for Mahmood, the river made both players a full house, and Eyster's aces-full sent Mahmood's deuces-full packing.

Lamb Gives It Up; New Arrivals

Five players limped in to see a flop together. Action checked to the cutoff, who fired 2,000. 2011 WSOP $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha Championship bracelet winner Ben Lamb called in the big blind, and the rest of the field folded.

Lamb checked the turn, and folded when his opponent bet 5,000. Will "The Thrill" Failla, five-time WSOP bracelet winner Scotty Nguyen, and six-time WSOP bracelet winner Layne Flack have now all hopped into this ever-expanding field.

Cheong Wins With Quads

Joseph Cheong was involved in a pot where the board read and he had bet about 20,000 which was the size of the pot. The player in middle position called him and the third player in the pot got out of the way.

Cheong showed for the absolute nuts and he took the pot down. Cheong is chipping up nicely and has over two times the starting stack of 60,000.

Galfond Gives Up

The flop was and Phil Galfond had a 5,000 chip laying in front of him in the under-the-gun position. Farhad Jamasi sat in the hijack and he raised to 10,000. Galfond called the bet.

The turn was the and Galfond checked to Jamasi who now put in a pot-sized bet of 26,300. Galfond decided to let it go and the pot was pushed to Jamasi.

Sanders Straightens Out Smith

Vern Smith, who's at his first WSOP after being put into the field by some of the 50-100 Mix players at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota, checked a flop over to Joseph Sanders in the hijack. He bet 3,600, and Smith responded with a raise to 13,000. Sanders tanked for a bit, then called.

Smith potted it on the turn, and Sanders immediately moved in for 40,700. Smith called and said, "You wanna run it twice? I've got a set and the nut flush draw."

Sanders held the nut straight, and improved it on the river, fading Smith's many outs to scoop the double. Smith went bust a few hands later.
