Laplante Makes A Great Call

Nível 7 : 400/800, 0 ante
Ryan Laplante from a previous event

Ryan Laplante checked a {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} board from the big blind, and Oleg Eltsov bet enough to put Laplante all in for his last 26,800. Laplante went deep into the tank for four minutes, mumbling to himself at times, and studying the 42,000 already in the pot. He eventually placed calling chips in the pot.

Eltsov turned up {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, and Laplante rolled over {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for aces-up and the double.

"Another minute, you would've been clocked," a tablemate told Laplante, who nodded and said, "It would've been reasonable."

Soverel Takes From Porter

Nível 7 : 400/800, 0 ante
Sam Soverel in a previous event

It folded all the way around to small blind Rep Porter and he limped. Big blind Sam Soverel raised to 2,400 and Porter called to see the flop.

The first three cards dealt were {k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} and Porter checked to Soverel. He continued with a bet only half the size of his preflop raise and he put 1,200 in the middle. Porter checked and he wanted to see another card on the board.

The dealer put the {10-Diamonds} turn card next to the flop and Porter checked again to Soverel. He kept firing and put 7,200 in the middle but that was too much for Porter and he got out of the way.

Weisman Wins One From Hunichen

Nível 7 : 400/800, 0 ante

Chris Hunichen raised to 1,600 from early position, and found a lone caller in Dylan Weisman in the big blind.

Weisman check-called a bet of 2,500 on the {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop, then check-called 5,500 on the {2-Diamonds} turn. Weisman checked the {9-Diamonds} river and Hunichen checked back.

"I win if you check," Weisman told Hunichen before rolling over {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Spades} for a full house.

"Unreal," Hunichen said once he saw Weisman's hand.

Epstein Is Back in Business

Nível 6 : 300/600, 0 ante

Alex Epstein played the final table of the $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller earlier today but he wasn't able to finish higher than 5th place, cashing for $359,320. He now has taken his seat in the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship after a couple of hours of rest and he already won some chips.

Epstein bet 3,000 on the {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop after Justin Bonomo had checked to him and a third player in the hand called the bet from Epstein. Bonomo got out of the way and they continued heads-up to the {6-Diamonds} turn.

Epstein fired a bet twice as big and he put 6,000 in the middle and that was enough to make his opponent fold and take down the pot.

Phil Galfond bet 3,000 into a pot of around 8,000 on a {7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop from the big blind, and Josh Arieh, who holds a WSOP bracelet in PLO from 2005 and only recently busted Event #48: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em in 9th for more than $30K, raised to 6,000. Galfond called.

Both players checked the {3-Clubs} turn, and Galfond checked again on the {9-Hearts} river. Arieh bet 20,000, and Galfond tanked for two minutes before throwing his hand away.

The board was already {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Spades} and Michael Mizrachi had bet 10,000 from the big blind in a pot that had about 12,000 in it. Jorryt van Hoof had a decision to make and he took his time to raise to 25,000.

Mizrachi took another bite of his food while he used his other hand to peek at his cards one by one. He then threw them one at a time to the dealer to fold and the pot was awarded to Van Hoof.
