Welcome back to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and the 2019 World Series of Poker where thousands will arrive for Day 1a of Event #50: Monster Stack - $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em starting at 10 a.m.
Last year, Canadian Tommy Nguyen took 1st place in the corresponding event, which was good for $1,037,451 of the $8,451,000 prize pool and the coveted World Series of Poker gold bracelet.
All players who enter this tournament will sit down with 50,000 in chips which is more than triple the starting stack of last year with just 15,000 in chips. Blinds will be starting at 100/100, with antes beginning in level 3. The players will play out 11 hour-long levels, with a 20-minute break after every two levels, and a 75-minute dinner break after the sixth level (approximately 4:40 p.m).
This 6-day Monster Stack is an absolute freezeout, meaning there will be no re-entries allowed. Players must choose either Day 1a or Day 1b to play out of the two starting flights.
Late registration will be closed after level 10, (approximately 10:35 p.m). The players who progress from Day 1a and tomorrow's Day 1b will come together for Day 2 on Sunday, June 23 at 11 am.
