Koss Takes Down 600k Pot

Nível 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Konrad Koss suddenly finds himself among the chip leaders after scoring a massive double elimination and pulling in around 600,000 chips.

Koss was in early position and ended up in a three-way all-in against the blinds.

Konrad Koss: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}
Small Blind: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}
Big Blind: {x-}{x-}

Board: {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The river brought disaster for the blinds, particularly the small blind, who was overflushed by Koss' {a-Spades}{4-Spades}. Players at the table speculated that this was the biggest pot of the tournament thus far, and it was certainly one of them.

Kroon and Jennings Chat Through Small Pot

Nível 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mark Kroon
Mark Kroon

Mark Kroon's stack has risen consistently today, his current 750,000 or so representing more than triple the chips with which he began the day. He's keeping up a consistent flow of chat, especially when involved in a hand as he was heads up just now with Robert Jennings. Preflop he'd called a raise in the big blind, saying, "I'm going to play nice. I need a bad flop."

Flop: {5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. "That's about as bad as it gets," continued Kroon, leading for 7,500, called by Jennings.

Turn: {6-Diamonds}: "Worst card in the deck," he said, checking. Jennings checked it back.

River: {5-Clubs}: "Sixteen-five," Kroon announced, throwing in a selection of chips, then doing it again with his left hand.

"I've got nine high," said Jennings, who was laughing while folding, shown a {10-Spades} in Kroon's hand.

End of Level 15 Chip Counts

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Beaver Performs Double Elimination to Top 600,000

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

A giant cooler saw three players commit their stacks to the pot preflop, with the winner Gary Beaver taking down 630,000, instantly propelled into the top ten in chips. The hands: {j-}{j-}, {k-}{k-} and {a-}{a-}. Beaver with the aces was "caught" in the middle of a raising war between a player with around 70,000 and another with over 100,000; when the board was dealt it contained no upsets to the natural order of high pairs.

Moraes Mountain Keeps Getting Bigger

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Adilson Moraes is back up to the 600k mark after scoring an elimination on an all-in preflop hand.

Adilson Moraes; {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Moraes and the opponent were off to the races, and the runout {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{k-Hearts} sealed the deal, as the Day 1 chip leader Moraes continues to work toward the goal of securing the Day 2 chip lead as well.

Bryner One of the First to Collect $1,499

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

"Want to cover the nit in seat three?" was the question from a neighbour as a smiling Ron Bryner moved his last few thousand over the line, called in four spots. "Turn it over?" he asked, but the three players with chips were yet to act.

"He's been folding so long he's forgotten how it works," a needling tablemate said.

The flop came down {a-}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, a player holding {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} bet off the other two, and Bryner's {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts} ended up being his final hand in the Seniors Event.

Rathi Survives Bubble with Literal Chip and Chair

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Mahesh Rathi was congratulated by his table when the bubble (which burst during that first pause, to the delight of the room in general) passed him by with a stack of just 1,000. In fact it wasn't a "stack" but one yellow chip.

"I feel like I just won the event!" he said.
