Greg Mueller completed with an ace and was called three ways. Jason Gola check-raised fourth with an ace-seven showing and Mueller called, while Nicholas Seiken and Anthony Zinno folded. Gola bet all further streets and Mueller eventually called to get shown for a flush and a low by Gola.
Mueller revealed for the superior low and took half of the pot.
Zinno, who had been partially involved in the hand, was down to as low as 10,000 earlier and has since bumped his stack above the average.
Shannon Shorr was left with just a few big bets after he took on Scott Clements in a Razz hand. Clements fired on fifth and sixth, which resulted in a call by Shorr on the former street and fold on the latter. That reduced the stack of Shorr by quite some and he will need a double or triple up very soon.
Clements, in the meanwhile, is among the biggest stacks in the room late in level eight.
Roland Israelashvili paired his ace on sixth and bet, which James Chen called. Israelasvili then check-called a bet and Chen nodded when he saw the for aces and kings by Israelasvili.
In an Omaha hand, Adam Friedman paid off the straight of Ryan Miller, who held on a board of and scooped the pot. Friedman dropped below six digits but is still up for the day while Miller nearly closed the gap.
James Obst doubled with a ninety-seven in Razz while at the same time one table over, Jameson Painter was eliminated in a Razz hand. Mike Matusow and 2017 champion David Bach are also nowhere to be found anymore on nearby tables.
Right after his double up, Obst folded the next hand and then went on to do 20 push ups before returning to his seat.
