Welcome To Day 1 of Event #28: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em
Welcome back to another exciting day at the 2019 World Series of Poker! This year has already been full of action and record-breaking field sizes and that could be set to continue because today marks the beginning of Event #28: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em.
Although tournaments of this game and buy-in level are nothing new to the World Series of Poker, this specific event with regards to its structure has never been run. In today’s tournament, players receive starting stacks of 20,000 and levels will each last 40 minutes.
There will be 20-minute breaks at the completion of every three levels, with a 75-minute dinner break after the ninth level of play. Players will be allowed one-re entry should they be eliminated from the tournament and registration will be open until the beginning of Level 10, which will be around 6:55 p.m. local time.
Cards will be in the air at 11 a.m. local time. Day 1 will play a total of 15 levels, with the remaining players coming back Wednesday at noon local time. With shorter levels than the typical one-hour structures at the Series, Day 2 is scheduled to play down until the final six players, who will then return the following day to play for what is certain to be life-changing money and a WSOP gold bracelet.
