Touil Rockets Up His Stack

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Samuel Touil three-bet an open raise to 75,000 in a battle cutoff versus button and his opponent called to see a flop of {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. Action checked to Touil, who continued for 75,000 and was called. On the {K-Hearts} turn, the opponent of Touil check-called a shove for what seemed to be more than 500,000 and tabled pocket fours for a set.

Touil only had {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, but the {A-Hearts} river gave the Frenchman the winning flush.

In the next hand, fellow Frenchman Martial Blangenwitsch sent a short-stack to the rail with ace-jack versus king-queen.

Vecino's Set Takes Ivey Down a Notch

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Juan Vecino opened to 23,000 on the button and Phil Ivey defended his big blind. The flop came {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Ivey checked to Vecino who also checked. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Ivey led out for 40,000 which Vecino called.

The river brought the {10-Clubs} and Ivey fired another 100,000. Vecino raised to 265,000 and Ivey went into the tank. After a few minutes, the clock was finally called and Ivey was given 30 seconds to make a decision. As his time was running out, Ivey made the call and Vecino turned over {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for a set of threes and scooped the pot.

Greenbaum Doubles with Quads Against Kaplan

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Jaime Kaplan opened to 25,000 in the hijack and Jonathan Greenbaum called in the big blind.

The flop landed {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Greenbaum checked to Kaplan who continued for 25,000. Greenbaum check-raised to 61,000 and Kaplan slid out an even 1,000,000.

"Is that a million?" asked Greenbaum.

The dealer confirmed the bet, and Greenbaum announced a call for his 538,000 total.

Greenbaum: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Kaplan: {K-Spades}{10-Spades}

Greenbaum was at risk but in the lead and would need to fade spades. The turn of the {10-Diamonds} changed nothing, and when the river was the {6-Clubs}, Greenbaum improved to quads and doubled to over 1.1 million in chips.

Macdonald Thriving; Le Doubles Through Rasmussen

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

On the turn of a heads-up pot between Thomas Macdonald and his opponent on the button, both players invested 80,000 each with the board showing {K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Macdonald then checked the {J-Spades} on the river. His opponent checked behind and Macdonald rolled over {K-Spades}{K-Hearts} for a full house to claim the pot.

Nghia Le ended up all in and at risk for 301,000 on the {Q-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} flop and Jacob Ramussen looked him up with the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} for top pair. Le had flopped the nut flush with {A-Spades}{10-Spades} and got the check mark for the double as soon as the {J-Clubs} appeared on the turn. The {2-Diamonds} river was a mere formality.
