Kennedy Triples Up

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The flop was down {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}, and the dealer was separating the main pot from the side. Three players were all in, and it was Darren Kennedy who had the lead.

Darren Kennedy: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Opponent 1: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Opponent 2: {9-}{9-}

Turn: {j-Hearts}
River: {a-Hearts}

Kennedy's top set put him in pole position, but his opponents had outs. Luckily for Kennedy, he held on the turn and river, which caused one player to be eliminated as well as a treble up in chips for Kennedy.

Monster Pot For Ivey Pushes Him Near 500k

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

In what must have been a three-bet pot preflop, Phil Ivey was facing off against Lev Milman. Milman was in the big blind while Ivey was in middle position. After preflop action, there was already nearly 40,000 in the pot.

The flop came down {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Milman led out with a bet of 15,500 which Ivey promptly called.

The turn was the {J-Clubs} and Milman led out again, betting 40,000 this time. Ivey took his time then called.

By the time the {10-Diamonds} came on the river a huge rail of over 20 people had gathered around to spectate the hand. Camera crews also rushed over as well. Milman thought for a while before he checked to Ivey. Ivey thought for a second as well before he announced that he was all in, shoving with a covering stack for about 110,500 effective.

Milman tanked for about two minutes but in the end he decided to fold so Ivey raked in the pot moving to nearly 500,000 chips.

Julius Versus Helppi

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Kyle Julius
Kyle Julius

Juha Helppi raised to 5,500 from under the gun and the player next to act called. Kyle Julius re-raised to 17,500 from the button and Helppi called.

They went heads up to the {k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Helppi checked. Julius bet 11,800 and Helppi check-raised to 35,000. Julius called and the dealer burned and turned the {8-Diamonds}. Helppi checked, Julius bet 26,000 and Helppi instantly folded. Julius turned over {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and said "It's probably not even a bluff, we've played together for too long."

Helppi responded with a smile and Julius dragged in the pot.

Sanchez and Salas Keep on Winning

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Damian Salas
Damian Salas

Ignacio Sanchez came into the day as the official chipleader from Day 1c and has continued his momentum into Day 3. With three players in the hand, the flop came {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and the action checked to Sanchez on the button. He tossed in a bet of 15,000 and only the big blind called.

The turn brought the {a-Diamonds} and the big blind checked to Sanchez again who threw in another 15,000 chip bet. His opponent called and the {3-Diamonds} finished the board. The big blind check-called one more bet of 26,000 and Sanchez tabled {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a straight. His opponent turned over {j-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for a straight as well as the two players chopped the pot.

Sanchez has continued to stack chips throughout the day, while Damian Salas has finally finished stacking his mound of chips. Upon further review, Salas has built his stack up to nearly 800,000 as well, sitting just behind Sanchez in the ranks.

Duhamel Slips a Bit

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Jonathan Duhamel
Jonathan Duhamel

On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts} Jonathan Duhamel was first to act against one opponent. He checked and the player put out a bet of 11,000. Duhamel called.

The turn was the {K-Hearts} and Duhamel checked again. The player put out a bet of 20,200 and Duhamel called once more.

The river was the {3-Clubs} and this time both players checked. Duhamel showed down his {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a pair of tens. His opponent waited for a few moments before showing his {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a set and that would be good enough to take down the pot.

Aces-Up for Soto

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Christian Soto opened to 5,000 from middle position and found action from both the small and big blind.

The flop landed {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and action checked round to reveal the {K-Diamonds} on the turn. The blinds checked, and Soto bet out 5,000.

The small blind called, and the big blind folded, and then both players checked the {9-Diamonds} on the river.

The small blind tabled {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, but it was Soto's {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} for aces-up that secured the pot.
