Byron Kaverman walked away from the tournament room after being knocked out. It looked to be Danny Steinberg who took care of the American high roller.

Charania Loses Flip to Henry

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Mohsin Charania
Mohsin Charania

A squeeze to 12,000 was in front of Nathan Henry and Mohsin Charania then moved all in for what appeared to be 66,000. Henry gave it a lot of thought and eventually called.

Mohsin Charania: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Nathan Henry: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The board came {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Charania failed to improve. "He got me covered," Charania quickly said and grabbed his belongings. Indeed, the triple crown champion was covered by a few big blinds and joined the rail.

Bazeley and Obst Tangle

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

There was a flop of {A-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} out in a three-way pot. The player in the big blind was first to act and he checked over to Jake Bazely who put out a bet of 3,500. James Obst called while the player in the big blind folded.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} and this time Bazeley checked. Obst fired a bet of 10,000 and Bazely tossed in a call.

On the {4-Hearts} river, both players slowed down with a check. Bazeley showed down his {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} but it was no match for Obts' {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for top pair. Obst scooped the pot to chip up while Bazeley dropped down a bit in chips.

Vecino Chips Up Even More

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Juan Vecino
Juan Vecino

Juan Vecino seems to be the new chip leader in the Amazon purple section. He is seated at the table with 2014 Main Event finalist Billy Pappas and they got involved in a six-way pot.

Pappas raised from the under-the-gun position to 3,000 and he got called by five players, including Vecino in late position and both players in the blinds.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and they checked it around to Vecino and he put in a bet of 6,200. All the players folded, except for the player in the small blind.

The turn was the {9-Spades} and the player in the small blind check-called a bet of 21,500 from Vecino.

The {7-Spades} river completed the board and after the player in the small blind checked again it was Vecino with a bet of 33,000. It took Vecino's opponent a while but he eventually made the call, but he mucked his hand when he saw Vecino open up {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Vecino now has well over 350,000 and he is most likely the chip leader in the purple section and ranks among the top counts in the entire Day 2c field.

Himmelbrand Eliminates Bardah

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Ronnie Bardah was all in when we got to his table for just over 19,000 on the button. Greg Himmelbrand isolated with a raise to 46,000 in the small blind and that cleared it to heads-up. Bardah showed {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} but said he knew he was in trouble because of the way Himmelbrand stuck in his chips without much thought. Sure enough, Himmelbrand had {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

The {6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} flop was brick city for Bardah but the {4-Spades} turn gave him a shot with a flush draw plus outs to chop. The {8-Diamonds} river was a brick, though.

Lau Can't Improve

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Alan Lau was in early position, facing off against a player on the button. Lau first checked the {Q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop and saw his rival fire 6,400, then he check-raised to 19,000. The other player was contemplating his decision for a few minutes and someone at the table called the clock. The floor person gave the player 30 seconds and a verbal five-second countdown and he moved all in for 39,700 with three seconds left to act. Lau double-checked his hand and called.

Lau was behind with {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} versus {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and the {7-Spades} turn and {3-Hearts} river missed his outs.

Kelsall's River Check-Raise Gets Paid

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Picking up the action on the river, the board was {Q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and Andrew Kelsall was first to act against one opponent. The player took a second then bet 10,000 into a pot of roughly 30,000. Kelsall then check-raised, making it 60,000, or enough to put his opponent all in.

The player thought it over for a bit, but eventually decided to call. Kelsall then showed his {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for the nut straight and it would earn him the pot.

After the hand, a few players at the table commended Kelsall's ability to get paid with his river check-raises.

"That's all you gotta do," Kelsall said. "You show nine high one time and then you get paid whenever you have it."
