Martin Wins One, Loses One

Nível 23 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Jesse Martin was under the gun on {4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts} and check-raised over a bet from Dan Zack on the button. Zack called and the river was a {10-Clubs}. Martin bet again and Zack tanked about a minute before calling. He couldn't beat {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for trips.

In the next hand, Martin check-raised and called a third bet from Adam Coats (button) on a {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop. Both checked the {7-Diamonds} and Martin check-called on the {4-Diamonds} river. Coats showed {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades} for a wheel and scooped.

Chris Bjorin Eliminated in 18th Place ($17,488)

Nível 23 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Chris Bjorin
Chris Bjorin

Chris Bjorin defended big blind from a Rob Mizrachi under-the-gun open. The flop came {7-Spades}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Bjorin check-called. The Swede came out betting on the {5-Spades} and Mizrachi raised him all in. Bjorin called with {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} for an ace-three low and a flush. Mizrachi, however, had the better flush with {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. The {3-Spades} river counterfeited Bjorin's low and improved Mizrachi to a scooper.

Nikolai Yakovenko Eliminated in 19th Place ($14,912)

Nível 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Nikolai Yakovenko
Nikolai Yakovenko

Nikolai Yakovenko got all his money in preflop — about 50,000 — with {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} in the big blind against the {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} of Jonathan Depa. The board ran out {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and trip aces were a scooper for Depa, dodging a nut low draw and a flush draw on the turn.

Matusow Gifts Some Chips to Gorodinsky

Nível 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

On a flop of {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Mike Gorodinsky was first to act. He checked and faced a bet from Mike Matusow, his one opponent. Gorodinsky called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Gorodinsky check-called another bet from Matusow. On the {K-Spades} river, Gorodinsky checked again. Matusow bet once more.

"Well, that's not an ideal river for me," Gorodinsky said, but called anyway.

"Ace-jack," Matusow said. As he said that, he picked up his hand to find the ace-jack, but couldn't. "Fuck!" Matusow said. "I misread my hand, dude."

Gorodinsky then showed his {J-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} for two pair. A frustrated Matusow tossed his cards across the felt, revealing the {A-Spades} in the process and Gorodinsky was awarded the pot.

Yakovenko Quartered

Nível 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Nikolai Yakovenko opened in middle position and got called in two spots. The flop came {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and he bet. Steve Chanthabouasy folded but Per Hildebrand announced a raise on the button. They raised until Yakovenko was all in.

Nikolai Yakovenko: {a-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Per Hildebrand: {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Yakovenko was looking at getting quartered against a straight and the nut low and that's exactly what happened as it rolled out {10-Clubs} {7-Spades}.

Gorodinsky Clipped by Martin

Nível 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Action was on the river with a board of {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Mike Gorodinsky was first to act. He put out a bet and was raised by Jesse Martin on the button. Gorodinsky then dropped into the tank and thought for at least a couple of minutes before he eventually settled on calling. Martin revealed his {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for three fives with an ace and it would earn him the entire pot as Gorodinsky mucked.

Martin chipped up to over 700,000 after the hand while Gorodinsky was chopped down to under 200,000.

Scott Bohlman Eliminated in 20th Place ($14,912)

Nível 22 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Scott Bohlman
Scott Bohlman

Rob Mizrachi raised on the button and Nikolai Yakovenko three-bet it. Scott Bohlman moved in for less in the big blind and Mizrachi called. Yakovenko check-called down as the board rolled out {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, tanking about 90 seconds on the final bet.

Mizrachi announced tens full and showed {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Yakovenko mucked {a-}{7-}{6-}{4-} and Bohlman busted with {k-}{q-}{8-}{5-}.
