In a raised pot, the flop showed {4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} when, after some thought, Mike Matusow check-called a bet from his opponent situated in the cutoff.

The turn brought a {8-Hearts} and the same action happened for 1,200. On the {a-Diamonds} river, Matusow check-called again for another 1,200 and saw his opponent snap-muck his hand. Matusow quickly showed {a-}{6-} for an ace-high call, which was good.

Thomas Muehloecker Takes a Seat

Thomas Muehloecker late registered this event and has a fresh new stack of 15,000.

Muehloecker, who lives in Vienna, made his biggest cash in a WSOP event during the 2017 World Series of Poker Europe, finishing in 4th place in the €111,111 High Roller for One Drop No-Limit Hold'em for €1,096,206. Muehloecker told us his first trip to Vegas was during the 2010 WSOP, and he has come back every year since.

The Austrian player also intends to play in Event #71: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em (30-minute levels), Event #74: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed Championship and in Event #77: $50,000 HIGH ROLLER No-Limit Hold'em. To relax between tournaments, Muehloecker told us he enjoys having dinners at Naked Fish, which is, according to him, the best restaurant in Vegas.

Duhamel Takes Chips and Talks About His Summer

Jonathan Duhamel three-bet from the under the gun position and only the player in the big blind got interested and made the call.

The flop brought {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{k-Hearts} and Duhamel bet for 500 after the big blind checked. His opponent made the call and the same action happened on the turn {6-Diamonds}, this time for 1,000.

The river was the {2-Hearts} and after another check from his opponent, Duhamel made a last bet of 1,000 and earned the pot when his opponent folded.

Duhamel told us more about his summer, saying he first went to Vegas at the beginning of the series, when he finished 6th in Event #19: $565 Pot-Limit Omaha for $33,477 and played Event #5: $100,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller, but without success, before going back home in Quebec right in time for his daughter's third birthday. Duhamel, who came back in Vegas four days ago for the Main Event, will also be seen in the Event #77: $50,000 HIGH ROLLER No-Limit Hold'em in a few days.
