After two days of playing split-pot games, we’re at the third day of Event #35: $1,500 Mixed Omaha featuring pot-limit Omaha Hi-Lo, fixed-limit Omaha Hi-Lo, and Big O (5-Card PLO/8). Out of 773 entries, there are only 31 left and the plan is to play down to winner.
James Alexander ended on top of the leaderboard after Day 2 yesterday, bagging 466,500. At the end of the day, he passed Gabriel Ramos (452,000) and Robert Mizrachi (439,000) to take over the chip lead.
Other familiar faces still in the tournament are Ryan Hughes (276,000), Jon Turner (218,000), Carol Fuchs (215,000), Mark Gregorich (176,000), and Bart Hanson (35,000). All of these players are guaranteed to take home $5,252, but they’re all aiming for the first prize of $211,781 and the WSOP gold bracelet.
Cards will be in the air at 2 p.m. local time and the plan is to play 60-minute levels until there is a winner. There will be a 15-minute break after every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after the day’s sixth level. With 31 players still left in the tournament and levels of 60 minutes, there is a very high chance that they won’t finish the tournament today.
However long it goes, PokerNews live reporting team will provide live updates right to the finish, so stick close to see who from those who remain becomes the Event #35 champion.
