Miaso and Kassela Chop the Low

After one player had limped in, Kyle Miaso raised in the cutoff and was called by Frank Kassela on the button, Phillip Wallace in the big blind and the limper. The flop fell 
and Wallace checked, the limper sent his cards into the muck and Miaso was confused for a second.
"What just happened?" Kassela asked and Miaso replied "The complete opposite of what I expected."
Miaso then bet, Kassela and Wallace called. On the 
turn, Wallace checked and Miaso bet once more, his two opponents called. The 
river was checked and Wallace showed the 
for a straight and a low. Miaso had 
for the better low, and Kassela showed 
for the same low to chop that portion of the pot.
