News from the 2019 World Series of Poker: June 18

Yesterday we spoke with Shaun Deeb before play began in the $10K Dealers Choice and he was unhappy with the decision to stop play on Day 3 7-handed.
Whether or not that affected play in the way Shaun anticipated, we may never know but Deeb indeed finished as runner up and Adam Friedman took down the Dealers Choice for the 2nd Year in a row. He refuted Shaun’s contentions when we spoke to him after play ended.
The second Shootout tournament of the 50th Annual World Series of Poker crowned a champion in David Lambard. He topped a field of 313 players to take home $207,193.
36 players return in the 1k double stack which managed to attract six thousand two hundred and fourteen entries in two starting days. Former November Niner Joseph Cheong is among the chip leaders today. Jack Sinclair is the only bracelet winner to remain in Day 4. All players are guaranteed about $15K at this point, but the life changing money is almost $700K at the top. Play will stop with 6 players and come back tomorrow for what is sure to be an exciting final table.

Event 37 has a similar concept, the $800 Deepstack, but with only one day one, there is a significant different in entries. The Deepstack, of which 18 remain all battling for the top prize of almost $300K. Have a look at your leaderboard coming into the day.

The Super Seniors Event is kick off its Day 2 today with 755 players all 60 years or older. There are still several names you will recognize in this field like Larry Wright, James Woods and Barry Greenstein.

The 1500 PLO that began yesterday is returning for Day 2 today with 186 players of the 1,216 that began with a starting stack yesterday. The game continues to grow and some faces we are keeping our eyes on today include Keith Lehr who is leading the way and has had an incredible summer so far, Robin Ylitalo, Matt Glantz and Erik Seidel.

Event #41: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship action restarts at 2 p.m., with 36 players coming back from the original field of 77. The other event starting today is One of the younger events on the World Series of Poker schedule, the $2,500 Mixed Big Bet first featured in 2017. The tournament will boast a mix of four flop and three draw games featured in the rotation and will find its third champion this year.
