Affleck Loses a Monster Flip to Soika

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Ihar Soika from an earlier event in the series.
Ihar Soika from an earlier event in the series.

Under the gun, Ben Achraf opened with a raise to 35,000 before Matt Affleck made it 115,000 from the next seat. Action folded to Ihar Soika in middle position and he moved all in for 640,000 total. Acraf let go of his hand quickly when folded to him. Affleck asked for an exact count, then called with his covering stack.

Matt Affleck: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Ihar Soika: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades} which gave Affleck a couple of extra outs on the flop, but nothing came to fruition so Soika earned the double up to over 1 million while Affleck was left with right around 250,000 chips.

Lexy Gavin

Alexis Gavin opened with a raise to 32,000 and she met a three-bet from Jonathan Abdellatif on the button to 86,000. Action folded back to Gavin who shoved for roughly 229,000 and Abdellatif quickly called.

Alexis Gavin: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}
Jonathan Abdellatif: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

On another table, Lee Markholt was just sent to the payout desk after busting in a hand versus Jeremie Sarda.

Javier Zarco

Martin Jacobson raised to 26,000 from mid-position and was called by Peter Rosenblum in the hijack and Javier Zarco in the big blind.

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, and both Zarco and Jacobson checked. Rosenblum then shoved, Zarco called, and Jacobson quickly folded after looking at his cards again.

Peter Rosenblum: {A-Hearts}{q-Spades}

They had both flopped a pair of queens, but Rosenblum had the better kicker with the ace in his hand.

Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Martin Jacobson raised to 26,000 from the cutoff and Peter Rosenblum three-bet to 75,000 from the button. Terry Fan and Scotty Nguyen quickly folded their blinds. Jacobson four-bet to 210,000 and Rosenblum called quite easily.

Martin Jacobson: {A-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Peter Rosenblum: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

The rest of the board was completed with the {7-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Spades} on the river to let Jacobson hold with his aces for two pair, aces and sevens, for the double-up. Moorman Quickly Dispatched

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

Chris Moorman opened in early position with a raise to 26,000 and he was called by one player before Matthew Davidow moved all in with a covering stack from the small blind. Moorman thought for a bit before calling and the other player in the hand folded.

Chris Moorman: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Matthew Davidow: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

Moorman was well in the lead but the {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop brought things a bit closer in Davidow's favor. The {6-Spades} on the turn was a blank but the river was the {Q-Diamonds} and that gave Davidow the flush, sending Moorman to the rail in 60th place. He will collect $9,616 for his run in this event.
