Sternheimer Eliminated by Sammartino

Dario Sammartino opened to 8,000 and Philip Sternheimer called in the small blind. Sternheimer stood pat and Sammartino drew one.

Sternheimer checked, and his Italian opponent bet enough to put him all in.

"That's where I really fucked up," said Sternheimer. "I gave away the strength of my hand."

He toyed with his decision before calling. "Eight," announced Sammartino, tabling , and Sternheimer's was mucked and he was eliminated.
