Vornicu Decides to Avoid a Monster Pot

Scott Horowitz opened with a raise to 2,000. Action folded around to the big blind where Valentin Vornicu defended with a call from the big blind.
The flop came down 
and Vornicu checked to Horowitz. Horowitz put out a bet of 3,000. Vornicu thought for a bit before check-raising, making it 8,500. Horowitz then thought himself for a bit, then raised to 20,000 and Vornicu dropped into the tank.
"You have me covered right?" Horrowitz asked. Vornicu appeared as if he did, but after a bit over a minute, Vornicu pitched his hand away.
"Did you fold a monster?" Horowitz asked after the hand.
"If this was a regular, no-limit hold'em tournament, one of us would've had 150k," Vornicu said. Horowitz just nodded as he stacked his chips.
