Lacarrubba Eliminated

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Joseph Lacarrubba hovered around the 250,000-chip mark by winning uncontested all-ins for most of the day, but his latest stand was unsuccessful. Curtis Rystadt raised to 45,000 from middle position and it folded around to Lacarrubba, who shoved for 252,000 from the big blind. Rystadt quickly called.

Lacarrubba: {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Rystadt: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop added some gutshot outs for Lacarrubba, and he picked up several more when the {8-Clubs} peeled off on the turn. Lacarrubba was just a 2-to-1 dog heading to the river, but the {9-Diamonds} provided no help.

Former Leader Liporace Out

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Andrew Liporace's slide was complete when Dan Smith got the last of his chips.
Andrew Liporace's slide was complete when Dan Smith got the last of his chips.

Dan Smith verbalized a check out of the small blind on a board of {2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}, and Andrew Liporace thought for about 90 seconds before pushing his whole stack forward from under the gun, a wager of about 265,000. Smith called, turning over {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. Liporace, who led the chip counts at the conclusion of Day 3, had flopped a flush draw with {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and added a gutshot straight draw on the turn. He stood up, knowing he needed to hit the river to keep his hopes alive. The {7-Hearts} hit the felt, and he was soon shaking hands with his tablemates.

Kaverman Folds to Baron

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Isaac Baron opened for a min-raise on the button and Byron Kaverman called from the big blind to see a {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{Q-Hearts} flop fall.

Kaverman checked and Baron bet out 40,000 with Kaverman calling fairly quickly as the {3-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Tapping the table for a second time, Kaverman would then be faced with a bet of 95,000 which he eventually responded to with a fold.

Jattin Doubles Through Olsson

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

We caught up in time to see Farid Jattin all in and at risk from the small blind for 704,000 against Emil Olsson in the big blind.

Jattin: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Olsson: {K-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Olsson kept his lead on the {2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Spades} flop but quickly fell behind when the {A-Clubs} struck the felt on the turn. The {6-Spades} completed the board, ensuring that Jattin would double up. Jattin now has 1.43 million while Olsson's stack has dropped to 485,000.

Himmelbrand Picks One Up

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

From early position, Greg Himmelbrand raised to 40,000 to kick things off on one of the outer feature tables. Robert Park was in middle position and made the call, then action slid over to Brian Roberts on the button. He called, and then Maria Ho closed the action with a call out of the big blind.

The {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop was checked by Ho, and then Himmelbrand fired a continuation bet of 67,000. One by one, Park, Roberts, and Ho all folded, giving Himmelbrand the pot.

Charette Caught Stealing

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Emil Olsson opened for 45,000 in early position, and Byron Kaverman three-bet to 105,000 in late position. Simon Charette woke up with a cold four-bet shove of 703,000 from the small blind, and Olsson called it off for 502,000. Kaverman got out of the way.

Olsson: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Charette: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Olsson was in good shape, and the {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} didn't change much. The {4-Hearts} turn left Charette with three outs, and the {6-Diamonds} wasn't one of them. He's now down to 10 big blinds after entering the day with a sizable stack.

Catching up With Keranen

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Back in 2012 Kyle Keranen closed out Day 5 as the overall chip leader and this year he's back at it. Keranen held the chip lead for much of the day so far, only to lose it right before the last break.

Keranen, who's been playing the ESPN Main Feature table, was kind enough to grant us some of his time and he explained how this run is different from two years ago.

Chris Johnson raised to 45,000 from the hijack and Milfred Sageer three-bet shoved from the big blind for 307,000. Johnson called.

Johnson: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Sageer: {J-Spades}{4-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}, no help to Sageer, giving Johnson the pot.
