Greer Rivered

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Garrett Greer raised from middle position, the player in the cutoff three-bet to 6,100 and Greer called.

They checked to the turn of a {4-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{7-Hearts} board where the player in the cutoff bet 6,000. Greer check-called, the {9-Diamonds} landed on the river and Greer check-called another 12,000 from his opponent, who tabled {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for two pair.

Greer flashed {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} as he sent his cards to the muck.

Lau Cracks Aces To Double Up

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Brigette Lau in the $10,000 WSOP PLO tournament
Brigette Lau in the $10,000 WSOP PLO tournament

We heard "all in and a call" come from a dealer's mouth here in the Purple section of the Amazon Room. It was Brigette Lau who was all in and at risk holding {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} on a {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. She was in bad shape as her opponent held {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}.

The turn would give Lau more outs as it was the {5-Clubs}. She would survive with any seven, six, three, or deuce. The river was the {6-Hearts}, giving Lau trip sixes and leading to a heavy sigh from the player with aces, as he had to send close to 25,000 of his stack over to Lau.

Zalewski Gives Some Back

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Jacob Zalewski
Jacob Zalewski

After recently doubling up, Jacob Zalewski has given a good chunk of those chips back. In a couple of the hands that did the damage, John Monnette took a good chunk, and then Antonio Esfandiari won the following pot.

On the {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop, Zalewski had called a bet of 5,300 from Esfandiari before the dealer put out the {3-Diamonds} on the turn. Both players checked to see the {J-Spades} land on the river, and Esfandiari bet 8,300. Zalewski called with the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, but it was no good against the {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for Esfandiari.

You Can’t Bluff a Bluffer

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Duncan McLellan is not an easy man to bluff. Not shy of a big bluff himself, he is not afraid to stick around with a few outs if he thinks someone is at it.

On a board of {3-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, McLellan check-called a 4,600 bet and saw the river come the {k-Diamonds}. He checked again and his opponent sat for a few moments before he checked. McLellan tabled the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} without ceremony and his opponent pushed his cards to the dealer.

“What was that?” another player asked, craning his neck to see what McLellan had shown down.

Farber Frustrated

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Jay Farber
Jay Farber

With 25,000 in the pot and the board showing {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, Jay Farber called a bet of 8,800 from his opponent in Seat 1. A player in middle position also called. All three players would check the {J-Spades} turn and {3-Hearts} flop and the player in Seat 1 would take down the pot with his {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. Farber let out a big sigh, showed {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}, and then lightly slammed the table with a stack of chips in his hand.

Farber would raise the very next hand to 2,200 and be reraised by a player in the small blind to 5,000. Farber called and then snap-folded when his opponent bet 6,500 on the {K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop. Despite the losses, Farber still has an above-average stack of 115,000.

Yu Ships Some to Lee

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Big blind Phillip Lee checked and called 3,500 from Ben Yu, who was in late position, on a flop of {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{a-Hearts}. Both players checked the {7-Clubs}, and Lee bet 4,200 on the {10-Spades}. Yu called after only about 30 seconds, and Lee announced two pair, showing {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Yu mucked his cards.
