All of the Aces

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jesse Chinni and two opponents took a flop of {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Spades}, and Chinni tossed out a bet of 1,700. Only one player, the player on his left, called.

The turn was the {a-Hearts}, both players checked, and the {q-Clubs} completed the board. Chinni checked, the player casually tossed out an orange T5,000 chip. A smile crept across Chinni's face, and he eventually mucked.

The player on his left showed him his two cards then went to muck.

"Wait," someone called from across the table. "What did he have?"

"All of the aces," the player said casually, tabling {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} face up.

Jerry Yang

We noticed that the seat formerly occupied by 2007 World Series of Poker champ Jerry Yang was empty. That led us to believe that he had been eliminated from the tournament, and a quick check with Fatima Moreira de Melo confirmed that was the case.

According to her, Yang got his short stack all in on a {10-}{8-}{6-} flop holding {7-}{7-} against Iaron Lightman, who had {a-}{a-}. Neither the turn nor river delivered Yang salvation, and his Main Event came to an end in the last level of Day 1c.

Fish Put in the Cooler

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Darryll Fish was cruising here on Day 1c, but a cooler just sent him to the rail short of Day 2. We missed the hand, but as Fish reported he ran {k-}{k-} into the {a-}{a-} of "a super aggressive kid." Fish failed to find a third king and his 2014 WSOP Main Event came to an unexpected end.

Fatima Moreira de Melo led out for 3,700 from the small blind on the turn of a board reading {5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs} and the player on the button made the call.

The {q-Clubs} completed the board and de Melo checked. Her opponent looked a bit unsure of quite what to do but he eventually checked and showed {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. De Melo had him from the flop with her {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and she added a modest pot to her stack.
