Big Slick Does the Trick for Tamayo

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

After the cutoff raised to 300 from the cutoff, Jonathan Tamayo called from the small blind and the two saw a flop of {7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Both players checked, the dealer burned and turned the {9-Clubs}, and Tamayo check-called a bet of 400 from his opponent.

Both players returned to checking on the {4-Spades} river and Tamayo tabled the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for the nut no pair. It was good as the cutoff double checked his cards before sending them to the muck.

Black Winning Pots and Telling Stories

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Andy Black bet 500 from the button on a {J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop and the big blind, who had checked to Black, called. The big blind then checked to Black, Black bet 500 again and this time it forced a fold from his opponent.

As Black stacked up his chips, he started to tell a story about a terrible seat draw in a Main Event from years ago where the legendary Stu Ungar was seated to Black's left.

"He destroyed me," said Black, "First he made friends with me, and then he completely destroyed me!"

Greenwood Flats Queens

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

There was a raise to 300 in early position, Max Greenwood called out of the small blind, and the player in the big blind defended. The flop fell {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, the action checked to the original raiser, and he bet 650. Only Greenwood called.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, both players checked, and the {6-Spades} completed the board. The pair knuckled again.

Greenwood turned over {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for a pair of queens, and his opponent mucked.

Two Former Main Event Champs Duke It Out at the Feature Table

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Huck Seed and Dan Harrington
Huck Seed and Dan Harrington

Earlier this level 1996 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Huck Seed scored an early elimination to bring his stack up to 60,000. What we failed to notice at that time was he was sitting to the direct right of 1995 WSOP Main Event champ Dan Harrington. We decided to spend a few hands with the wily veterans to see if they mixed it up.

In the first hand, Seed raised to 200 from early position and then called when the player in the cutoff three-bet to 700. Both players then checked the {8-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop before Seed checked the {6-Diamonds} turn. The cutoff bet 900 and Seed folded.

Two hands later, the hijack opened for 300 and then called when Seed three-bet to 800 from the big blind. Seed then check-called a bet of 1,025 on the {10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop before both players checked the {6-Diamonds} turn. When the {5-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Seed led out for 1,800 and the hijack tossed in a call. Seed rolled over the {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}, and it was good as the hijack sent his cards to the muck.

Not long after, Seed opened for 200 from the cutoff only to have Harrington three-bet to 750 from the button. The blinds both folded and Seed did the same. "I wish you hadn't raised," Harrington told Seed. "I think he was going to reraise my button raise." Harrington then looked over at one of the young guns in the blinds and smiled.

Kassela's Price Is More Than $5

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

From early position, Vanessa Selbst raised to 250. One player called in middle position, and then Frank Kassela called from a later position. The three of them saw the flop come down {A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, and Selbst bet 350. Her two opponents called.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds}, and Selbst checked. The next player bet 1,000, and then Kassela made it 2,800 to go. Selbst folded, then the other player followed suit, and Kassela won the pot.

"I'll give you $5 to show that hand!" shouted someone from the rail.

"$5? That's it?" questioned Kassela. "It's going to cost a lot more than that. "I'll show some hands, but it's going to cost a lot more than $5. Y'all better take up a collection!"

Kassela then added, "$100 and I'll show one, I'll even let you pick the hand. $50 for one card and $100 for both, and you can pick the hand and the card."

Iglesias Chipping Up

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

From under the gun, Triana Iglesias opened to 400 and a player two to her left made the call as the dealer dropped a {Q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop.

Iglesias continued for 500 and her opponent called as the {7-Clubs} landed on the turn and she bet out 700. Again her opponent called, but when the {8-Diamonds} on the river was followed by a 1,000-chip bet from Iglesias, her opponent folded and Iglesias climbed to 39,075 in chips.

Early Exit For Shak

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Dan Shak in an earlier event this summer
Dan Shak in an earlier event this summer

Dan Shak has just been eliminated while we're still in the first level of the day. The players at his former table helped us reconstruct the hand and the information was as following.

On the fourth hand of play Shak ended up putting Alfie Adam all in for his tournament life after a big raising war. Adam called his chips off holding pocket aces and Shak held ace-king off suit. The board brought a king for Shak but that was not enough for the knockout.

After this hand Shak was left with 800 chips and while he doubled up once he was quickly knocked out with two jacks versus {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}.

The Force Not Strong Enough

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We caught the action on a flop of {2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-Spades}. The player in the small blind checked-folded to a bet of 1,500 from Leif Force, and a player in middle-position made the call.

The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and Force led for 1,500 once again. The mid-position player called and the {9-Spades} fell on the river. Force led for a bit more this street, sliding out 3,500. His opponent announced raise, bumping it up to 7,000. Force would make the call and muck when his opponent tabled {k-Hearts}{q-Spades} for a rivered straight
