Sylvia Takes a Hit Early
We found 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event runner-up Jesse Sylvia engaged in a hand where four players took a flop of . The first player to act checked, prompting Sylvia to toss out a bet of 550. One player folded, the next called, and the first player to act called as well.
This left three players still active to see the hit the felt on the turn. There was one check over to Sylvia once again and he continued his aggression with a bet of 1,300. The late positioned player called while the first player folded. Sylvia and his now heads-up opponent saw the complete the board on the turn. Sylvia bet 2,500 and his opponent quickly clicked it back to 5,000. Sylvia instantly hung his head.
"Really?" remarked Sylvia with a chuckle.
Sylvia went into the tank, intermittently looking down at his cards and looking back at his opponent for well over two minutes. Ultimately, Sylvia tossed out a call and his opponent rolled over for a flopped set of treys. Sylvia mucked his hand and watched as the pot was pushed to his opponent. The 2012 November Niner is now down to about 19,000.
