More From Pavilion

Nível 1 : 25/25, 0 ante

Vanessa Selbst, fresh off her 3rd WSOP bracelet yesterday, highlights the players from the Black and Gold sections of the Pavilion Room.

Standing on the rail waiting to get into the action are Shaun Deeb, Tony Dunst, and Jimmy Fricke. The number of entrants is above 5,000. Not that it's going to happen but there is a small chance that we could top the record set in the 2006 Main Event won by Jamie Gold. That tournament had 8,773 entrants.

Fossilization

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

After an open to 75 from the player under the gun, action folded around to Greg "Fossil Man" Raymer in the hijack.

The 2004 World Series of Poker Main Event champion decided to apply a little pressure, and Raymer three-bet to 200. The cutoff and the button both flatted the reraise, as did the original bettor, and the flop fell {2-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

Three checks to the cutoff prompted a bet of 550, and when the action folded to Raymer the champ tossed out a few chips for a raise to 2,500. Faced with a pressure play from a feared pro, the cutoff dove deep down into the tank to contemplate his options, staring straight ahead and remaining silent for upwards of four minutes.

Finally, one player at the table decided to call the clock on the tanker, and a few seconds after the floor arrived on the scene the hand ended via fold.

As he collected his newly earned chips Raymer delivered a discourse on the increased use of clock-calls, mentioning that in today's game players simply do not have the patience to suffer through extended deliberations over marginal pots.

Harwood Shoves the Turn

Nível 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We passed by Loni Harwood's table a moment ago to catch the bracelet winner move all in for about 2,800 on the turn.

The board read {5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} when Harwood made her move, and after a long minute to think things through, her opponent elected to fold and fight another day.
