Zeidman's Two Pair Takes It

Nível 3 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On fourth street we picked up the action when Cory Zeidman, Freddie Ellis and Steve Billirakis checked to Brian Hastings who said, "Let's build a pot," as he tossed in a bet. All three of his opponents called and the action went to fourth street.

Zeidman paired up on fifth and lead out and Ellis called with his dangerous looking board. Bilirakis folded and Hastings sighed, but he also tossed in 1,000.

On sixth street Zeidman bet again and Ellis and Hastings called. Seventh street was dealt face down and all three players checked.

Zeidman: {X-}{X-} / {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs} / {X-}
Ellis: {X-}{X-} / {9-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{2-Spades} / {X-}
Billirakis: {X-}{X-} / {3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} --fold
Hastings: {X-}{X-} / {5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{J-Spades}{K-Clubs} / {X-}

After seventh was checked Zeidman announced he had two pair and showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{9-Hearts} for aces and nines. Zeidman took down this pot and he's now back to around the starting stack.

Scary Board Makes Ashton Check

Nível 3 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Matthew Ashton
Matthew Ashton

Last year's $50,000 Players Championship winner, Matthew Ashton, just checked a hand down with Juha Helppi. Ashton's hand was strong, but Helppi's board worried the Brit a little too much.

From fifth street on the hand was checked down on the following boards.

Helppi: {X-}{X-} / {5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades} / {X-}
Ashton: {X-}{X-} / {J-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} / {X-}

When seventh street was checked Ashton announced he had two pair and turned over {J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

Nível 3 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We're up to 64 players in today's event and slowly but surely, more players are taking their seats. The last time this event had a $10,000 buy-in in 2011, there were 126 entrants.
