Jonas Ten Cate was the first players prepared to put some chips into the pot when he raised to 12,000 from late position. Aaron Massey then three-bet to 30,000 from the cutoff, a raise that folded out the button and blinds. When it was Ten Cate's turn to act again, he raised to 78,000 and this was enough to get rid of Massey.
Barny Boatman has lost a large pot that resulted in two players being paid off. We arrived at Boatman's table to discover him sat there with in front of him and a board reading .
In front of Erica Lindgren was that had turned a set, and in front of another players there was that had improved to beat Boatman's hand. The chips had gone in preflop, Lindgren moving all in first, then the player with ace-king and then Boatman calling both and probably licking his chops, until the flop and turn were dealt at least.
One of the early chip leaders has been sent for the proverbial early bath and is no longer competing for this tournament's honors.
"Payout table #368," cried the dealer. We turned to look what had occurred and saw Marc-Etienne McLaughlin stacking up some chips and Mark Schmid making his way to register his finishing position with the payout team.
