Metaal Pays Off

Nível 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Govert Metaal opened for 6,500 and got one caller in the small blind.

The flop was {9-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and they both checked. The turn card was the {10-Hearts} and Metaal faced a bet of 7,000. He made the call to go to the river which was the {3-Spades}. Another bet of 8,000 this time from the small blind and Metaal flicked out the calling chips. He couldn’t beat {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} though and lost the pot.

O'Brien Runs Good

Nível 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Dan O'Brien managed to get one short stack all in and his {6-}{6-} was slightly ahead of that opponent's {a-}{j-}.

A jack on the flop changed all that, but all you Dan O'Brien fans need not worry. He hit a six on fifth street to make a set and bust the shorty.

Sevens for Pollock

Nível 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Josh Pollock opened to 6,500 from early position and only the big blind came along as the dealer spread a {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop. Both players checked as the {5-Diamonds} landed on the turn and the big blind bet out 4,000.

Pollock called as both players checked the {9-Spades} on the river.

The big blind tabled his {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, but it would be Pollock's {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} that would see him scoop the pot to move to roughly 265,000 in chips.

Cheong Busto

Nível 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Joseph Cheong figured jacks were good on a low flop heads up with one opponent.

Unfortunately for him, that opponent had aces and he's now on the outside looking in.

Busquet Busts

Nível 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Olivier Busquet got a little short and shoved {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}. It took some time, but eventually he got called by one opponent with {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Busquet can now only lay claim to having the best hand before the flop as the board ran out {10-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} to send him packing.

Getting Close to the Money

Nível 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Currently the tournament directors covering the Monster Stack are getting ready.

Getting ready for the onslaught of payouts!

Although they've been keeping the tournament clock closely updated to how many players left, the most recent word is that the tournament is just five tables away from the reaching the money.

With so many players left, there is bound to be a lengthy hand-for-hand process before 792 players will be guaranteed a $2,759 payday.
