Pot to Paster

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

After a player opened for 2,600, Jason Paster called and Craig Carrillo also came along for the ride from the button. The blinds folded and the three players saw a flop of {q-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

It checked to Paster who bet 4,200 and when only Carillo called they were heads up to the turn which brought the {7-Diamonds}. A bet of 10,000 then saw Carillo surrender his hand, and the pot was pushed to Paster.

Baumstein Squeezes

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

There was an open to 3,600 and when Franklin Azevedo called Scott Baumstein squeezed from the hijack to 7,700. The original raiser folded to the aggression but Azvedo, undeterred, made the call.

They were heads-up to a flop of {9-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Azevedo checked as did Baumstein. The same action followed the {k-Diamonds} turn. The river was the {k-Spades}. There was a check from Azevedo then a bet of 10,500 from Baumstein, which got a quick call.

Baumstein tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Azevedo showed the reason he made the river call — {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}. Pot to Baumstein.

A Couple of Big Stacks Tangle

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Jake Schwartz opened to 2,500 from late position and Andjelko Andrejevic called from the small blind. The big blind called as well and they were three ways for a flop of {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

All three players checked and the turn was the {j-Spades}. Andrejevic led for 4,600 and the big blind and Schwartz both called. The river was the {a-Diamonds} and Andrejevik fired 9,100. The player in the big blind folded and Schwartz made the call.

Andrejevik flipped over {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for two pair and Schwartz mucked.

Melius Gets a Double

Nível 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Gregory Johns had made it 11,000 and David “Barth” Melius moved all in for another 14,500. Johns made the call and asked the dealer for help when he saw the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} of Melius was ahead of his {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

The final board read {2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, the cards staying low to give Melius a double-up.

Thomas Doubles Up After Close Call

Nível 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Former November Niner Russell Thomas apparently opened from the big blind and was temporarily facing an all-in bet from the small blind.

After pleas of "no, no, no!," from a table that also includes Jamie Kerstetter and Todd Terry, we walked over to see a couple of sets of cards on their backs and the dealer apologizing as he straightened things out. The dealer had thought Thomas had folded, but Thomas' intent was definitely to call with his {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

The other player had Thomas covered and had tabled {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Once things were settled, the board ran out {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Thomas doubled up.

Lichtenberger Lucky to Bust a Player and Chip Up

Nível 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Andrew Lichtenberger
Andrew Lichtenberger

Andrew Lichtenberger opened to 3,800 from middle position and the big blind shoved all in, with Lichtenberger quickly calling with {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. He needed some big help as his opponent tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

The flop of {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} was no help to "luckychewy," but things got better with the {q-Diamonds} on the turn. The fourth diamond came with the {6-Diamonds} river, completing Lichtenberger's flush and he is getting healthy with chips.

Bauer Building

Nível 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Christopher Thomas opened for 3,500 and was raised from the big blind by Brian Bauer, the big stack at the table. Thomas made the call and the two of them went to the flop.

The dealer fanned {7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Bauer led out for 8,000 and Thomas made the call. The turn was the {8-Spades} and Bauer didn’t slow down, making it 11,900. Again Thomas made the call. The river was the {9-Hearts} and both players checked.

Bauer flipped over {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and when Thomas nodded and passed his cards to the dealer, Bauer had some more stacking to do on his growing pile of chips.
