"Why Double Up When You Can Triple Up"

Nível 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

A short-stacked William Reynolds moved all in under the gun for his last 14,500 and David "The Dragon" Pham called right behind. Ivan Freitez then called from the big blind, and that prompted Reynolds to look on the bright side.

"Why double up when you can triple up," he said.

When the flop came down {2-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}, Freitez checked and then folded when Pham bet 15,000.

Pham: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Reynolds: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Both players had flopped an ace, but it'd be Reynolds' kicker that would earn him the triple after the {7-Spades} appeared on the turn followed by the {10-Hearts} on the river.

Reynolds Doubles Through Pham

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Nobody seemed to want to play any poker at table #352 and the players folded around to William Reynolds in the small blind.

"I'm all-in," said Reynolds before pushing his chips forward. David Pham asked for a count, was told 44,500 and armed with that information, Pham called.

Pham: {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Reynolds: {A-Clubs}{4-Spades}

Reynolds paired his four on the {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop, but still needed to avoid a king or a five on the turn and river. He managed to do that because the turn was the {9-Spades} and the river the {10-Diamonds}, doubling Reynolds to 100,000.

Davies Slays the Dragon

After doubling William Reynolds on two occasions, David "The Dragon" Pham was left on a short stack.

He ended up getting it in with {k-}{j-} against Scott Davies, who held {j-}{10-}. The board ended up being ten high, which gave Davies the pot and sent Pham to the rail.

Meanwhile, Kunal Patel has also been eliminated from the tournament.

Laming Gets a Set Paid Off

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

In a result that is sure to please the British railbirds, Daniel Laming has doubled after flopping a set at getting paid off.

Laming was facing a bet of 19,000 on a {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop and raised all-in. His opponents called, showed {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and discovered that Laming was sat there with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} in his hand. The {8-Clubs} turn was followed onto the felt by the {2-Spades} river and Laming's double up was complete.

Milan Wins Huge Pot After a Sweat

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Pierre Milan was all-in for 138,500 with {K-Spades}{K-Hearts} and facing Ivan Freitez's {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Freitez punched the air and let out a loud "YES!" when the flop came down {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}. His joy soon turned to despair when the {Q-Spades} landed on the turn and gave Milan a straight. The {8-Clubs} river failed to alter the course of the hand and Milan saw his stack boosted to almost 300,000.

Pospiech Scores Double Elimination

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

The preflop action escaped us, but we do know it resulted in a big three-way all in between Danny Illingworth, who was all in for around 70,000; Alex Queen, who had 236,500; and Marius Pospiech, who had Queen covered by a single T500 chip.

Illingworth: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Queen: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Pospiech: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Pospiech and queen were racing for a big side pot, while Illingworth was looking to get lucky to claim the main. The {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop did little to help Illingworth and Queen, and neither did the {3-Diamonds} turn. The {6-Clubs} river was safe for Pospiech, and he was able to send two tough opponents to the rail.

"I had 16,000 two hours ago," Pospiech said with a big smile. "I was grinding a really sick short stack."

Salsberg Scores a Lucky Double Through Baron

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Matt Salsberg
Matt Salsberg

We caught the aftermath of a big hand between Matt Salsberg and Isaac Baron.

The chips went in preflop, Salsberg holding {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and Baron the {10-}{10-}. Baron proceeded to flop a set on the {10-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop and Salsberg looked dead and buried. The {2-Diamonds} turn initially seemed like a blank, but the {K-Diamonds} on the river gifted Salsberg a higher full house and he scored a much needed double up.
