Kaufman Qualified at WSOP.com

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante
Stephen Kaufman
Stephen Kaufman

It was Chris Moneymaker who was largely responsible for the boom in poker, especially the trend to qualify online for a seat at a WSOP event - a trend that continues to this day.

Stephen Kaufman is one player in the field today who won his seat through WSOP.com. Although he may be older than the majority of the field competing today, he still looks right at home with his earphones plugged in and a big cup on Starbucks in front of him on the table. Kaufamn will be looking to spin up his cheap entry to the tournament into a potentially huge payday. Although there is very long time to go, if the rest of the tournament goes the way of a recent hand we witnessed, who knows what might happen?

There were a couple of limpers from early position, so Kaufman put in the 50 on the button and they all saw a flop of {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The early position limper bet 150 and Kaufman was the only caller. The dealer sneezed and had to take a moment to blow her nose before returning to the action. When she did, her first action was to scoop up the bettor's unprotected cards.

The hand was dead and the pot was awarded to Kaufman. The player took it fairly well considering it is his responsibility to protect his hand.

Kaufman chuckled and said, “Next time don’t bluff.”
