Third Break, Late Reg Closing Shortly

Nível 6 : 300/600, 50 ante

All players are now on their third 15-minute break, the exact amount of time to still register for the event. The screens show 462 participants so far, crushing the number from one year ago. In the break, the T-25 chips will be removed from play.

Mr. Sweet Potato

Nível 6 : 300/600, 50 ante

While walking past some tables to get updated chip counts, we overheard a conversation between Brandon Shack-Harris and defending champion Mike Gorodinsky. Apparently, he has been getting sweet potatoes from All-American Dave, and his new nickname is Mike "Sweet Potato" Gorodinsky.

Shack-Harris joked, "Oh, that is going onto PokerNews now." Yes, indeed.

Rodman Roasted

Nível 6 : 300/600, 50 ante

Omaha Hi-Low

After a player raised to 600, Blair Rodman called off for that exact amount from the small blind. The big blind came along, which meant there were two active players to the {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop. The big blind proceeded to check-call a bet, and then two more on the {5-Diamonds} turn and {8-Hearts} river.

The original raiser showed {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the nut low, and then the small blind tabled the {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for two pair. A frustrated Rodman then showed the {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for a pair of kings and a bunch of missed draws. Rodman was eliminated on the hand while the other two players chopped up his chips.

Farha Scoops Bonomo

Nível 6 : 300/600, 50 ante

Stud Hi-Low

Sammy Farha was short-stacked early on and scooped a pot against Justin Bonomo to climb up to almost two times the starting stack. We didn't see the action until seventh, but Farha called the single bet of Bonomo and they turned their cards.

Bonomo: {4-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{K-Diamonds} / {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Farha: {10-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Spades} / {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{X-}

The current WSOP POY Race leader could not beat the two pair of Farha and fell below starting stack.

"Funny Hand" Leaves Friedman with Shaking Head

Nível 6 : 300/600, 50 ante

Stud Hi-Low

We only caught the action when all cards were already showing and Adam Friedman was shaking his head, not believing what had happened. Mihails Morozovs called it a "funny hand," winning the high pot. His opponent won the low one.

Opponent: {6-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-}
Friedman: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Morozovs: {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Both Friedman and Morozovs had a ten-high flush, but the second card played for Morozovs to give him 50% of the pot.

Forrest's Two Pair is Second Best

Nível 6 : 300/600, 50 ante

Stud Hi-Low

We picked up the action on fourth street when Ted Forrest bet 300, another player raised to 600, and Chau Giang folded. Forrest made the call and then check-called a bet of 600 on fifth. When he paired his eight on sixth, Forrest led out for 600, his opponent called, and both players checked on seventh.

Forrest: {8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} / {2-Clubs}{x-}{x-}
Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Hearts} / {2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Forrest flashed the {2-Clubs} for eights and deuces, but then mucked when his opponent tabled tens and deuces.

Barer Short

Nível 6 : 300/600, 50 ante

Stud Hi-Low

Ami Barer was eliminated from the six-max tournament and jumped into the $2,500 Omaha/Seven-Card Stud Hi-Low on a very chatty table. He was betting ace-high with a flush draw, but his opponent called. Barer and his opponent exchanged some banter on seventh, and eventually turned over their cards.

Barer: {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades}{K-Clubs} / {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Opponent: {2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} / {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

The pot was shipped to the opponent and Barer has only a few bets left.
