Kory Kilpatrick is the latest player to win his heads up match. Kilpatrick defeated Ashton Griffin in heads up play and will bring 87,900 in chips to Day 2.
Christophe de Meulder recently defeated Brandon Meyers during heads up play to lock up a seat in Day 2. John Dolan also won his heads up match and locked up a guaranteed payday of $7,805. Stewart Newman also guaranteed his seat when he bested David "Bakes" Baker during heads up play.
Both Greg Merson and Ryan Riess have been eliminated from play in third place at their respective tables. Merson's elimination leaves Dylan Linde and Kenny Hallaert heads up for a seat in the second day. Linde holds the chip lead now with 47,000 to Hallaert's 36,000.
Griffin Benger is now heads up with an opponent and holding a chip disadvantage. The Canadian holds 26,000 in chips.
Erik Seidel is heads up at his table and holds a solid chip lead over his opponent. The eight-time WSOP bracelet winner has about 63,000 in chips.
Faraz Jaka won his heads up match in lightning-quick fashion, locking up his seat for Day 2. Concurrently, Chris Bell defeated his heads up opponent and bagged up for the night.
Nick Abou Risk, who was earlier saved when his pocket sixes flopped quads against Jeremy Wien's pocket aces, has defeated 2010 WSOP Main Event Jonathan Duhamel heads up to advance to Day 2. Abou Risk bagged up 88,400.
