Freshly crowned bracelet winner Justin Bonomo is still in contention for his second this summer, but a lot has to happen for him to be a real contender. Bonomo was just all in for his tournament life against Nick Schulman and doubled up, only to lose back his profits on the very next hand.
We picked up the action fourth street when Bonomo called a bet from Schulman, and on fifth street it was Bonomo who bet and Schulman called.
Bonomo bet again on sixth street, Schulman called and on seventh both players checked.
Bonomo: (X-X) / / (X)
Schulman: (X-X) / / (X)
Schulman turned over his for a ten-eight low and Bonomo flicked his cards for a bit before throwing them into the muck. Bonomo remains as one of the short stacks while Schulman sits above the current average.
Brian Townsend completed, David "ODB" Baker raised and Paul Volpe made it 7,500 with both players calling. Townsend bet fourth, Baker called, Volpe raised and Townsend three-bet with both Baker and Volpe calling. Volpe then led fifth, sixth and seventh with Townsend calling him down as Baker dropped out on the river.
Doyle Brunson and David "ODB" Baker have both been sent to the rail.
Baker was left virtually crippled a few hands earlier and couldn't increase his two big bet stack while Brunson sped off on his scooter once he was eliminated.
Eric Rodawig: (X-X) /
Brock Parker: (X-X) / — fold
Picking up the action on fourth street, Brock Parker led with a bet, and Eric Rodawig called. On fifth street, both players checked, and then Rodawig led with a bet on sixth. Parker folded, and Rodawig won the pot.
Not too long ago we reported on George Danzer making a little comeback after value betting a queen low and now we can confidently say that the German is among the biggest stacks in the room.
Stephen Chidwick just completed and Danzer called after which the German bet all streets up until seventh. On seventh both players checked.
Chidwick: (X-X) / / (X)
Danzer: (X-X) / / (X)
Danzer tabled for an eight-six low and he raked in another decent sized pot.
