Brandon Cantu was knocked down to just a few thousand chips after losing a big hand against David Bach, and we just saw him hit the rail.
Three players went to fourth street and it was Barlow who bet, Cantu raised and Bach folded his cards. Barlow called and on fifth street he lead out and Cantu tanked for quite a long time before making the call with just 1,500 chips left behind.
"You want to put in the rest blind?" Cantu asked, and Barlow obliged.
Barlow: /
Cantu: /
Bach: (X-X) / — fold
What followed went by very quickly and Barlow ended up with a nine-eight low while Cantu missed his draw to a better nine-eight.
Mike Watson has just been knocked out, the Canadian pro had been short for quite some time and we just saw him exit the tournament area. We're down to 23 players now and 16 of those will make the money.
Naoya Kihara completed and Brian Hastings raised. Scott Abrams and Kihara called as Abrams bet fourth with both players calling. Hastings took the lead back on fifth before Kihara took the lead on sixth.
On seventh, the action checked to Abrams who bet out with only Kihara calling. Abrams tabled his for a jack-low, but it would be Kihara's for a ten-low that would see him pushed the pot.
Yuval Bronshtein was among the shortest stacks in the room when we got down to three tables, but he just picked up a little steam by taking down a big pot from Jesse Martin.
On fourth street Martin bet, Bronshtein called and Hoyt Corkins folded. On fifth street it was Bronshtein who bet and Martin called. This action repeated itself on sixth and seventh street Martin mucked when Bronshtein turned over the winning combination.
