Wade Townsend had the bring-in, and the action folded round to Daniel Negreanu who completed to 2,000. Townsend raised and Negreanu put him all in for his last 5,700. Townsend called and each player's board ran out as follows:
Negreanu: / /
Townsend: / /
With Townsend making a wheel, he doubled through to roughly 13,000 as Negreanu slipped to 73,100 in chips.
Barry Greenstein completed all in for his last 1,500 and both Hoyt Corkins and Jason Matthews called. Corkins bet out on fourth, fifth and sixth street with Matthews eventually giving up on sixth.
"I just value bet a queen," George Danzer just told us, as he stepped away from the table for a second.
Danzer was in great spirits and emphasized that he really bet his queen low for value on the river when we asked him if he was serious.
The German mixed game enthusiast went on to give us a super fast explanation on why he bet the queen on the river, and all it did was show us that this man is in full control.
"I don't have many chips so I got to make some things happen," Danzer said with a smile.
Danzer made the final table of last year's $50,000 Poker Players Championship and, despite an average stack, he's one of the favorites to go deep in this one.
Yuval Bronshtein completed and Daniel Negreanu raised to 4,000. Bronshtein called and then bet fourth with Negreanu calling while stating, "I gotta pump my man up, give him some chips!"
This being reference to the fact that Negreanu has Bronshtein on his 25k Fantasy Team. Bronshtein then bet fifth and Negreanu folded while saying, "I can't give you anymore chips, it would look to obvious!"
Bronshtein: (X-X) /
Negreanu: (X-X) /
Bronshtein tabled his as the tabled laughed at Negreanu's responses.
