Jason Mercier joined the PokerNews Podcast to talk about the World Series of Poker, not engaging in bracelet bets, and the first time he ever played online poker. Then, all hell breaks loose. The crew rants about televised poker, Galen Hall and Jesse Martin break the live stream, and there are surprise visits by Allen Kessler, Matt Glantz, and Matt Salsberg.
He was just informed that about half of the field has been eliminated in the six-handed tournament, and didn't know whether or not he wanted to double dip.
After some lobbying from his potential tablemates Tom Koral and David Williams, Ivey stood up and left.
"We did it!" Williams said, grinning "We got rid of him!"
Ivey cracked a huge smile and strolled off to hop into the noon event.

The 16th bracelet even of the 2014 World Series of Poker is about to kickoff, and according to the tournament clock there are already 130 players registered for this $1,500 buy-in limit 2-7 triple draw tournament. There has already been one triple draw event this year - Tuan Le defeated Justin Bonomo heads up to win the $10,000 championship - and last year there was only one.
Eli Elezra took that event down, defeating Daniel Negreanu heads up to capture his first career bracelet.
Abe Mosseri, who busted from the single draw championship final table earlier today, will be battling it out for another draw bracelet in this event, and we also expect a plethora of notables to rock up like Phil Ivey. Ivey just busted from the Omaha eight-or-better event, and we expect him to be two-tabling this and the six-max event that kicked off at noon.
The cards will be in the air shortly, and the plan is to play 10 levels with no dinner break. The players will bag and tag around 3 a.m. PDT.
