Kroon's Main Event Comes to an End

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Mark Kroon
Mark Kroon

Mark Kroon drew a lot of attention in this main event for his talkative nature, and for building up his chip stack. He ended Day 1c and 2c as the chip leader, but took a big hit yesterday, and came in as an average stack today. He made the money, but his tournament has just come to an end at the hands of [Removed:532].

An early position player raised it up, and [Removed:550] called in late position. Kroon tagged along from the big blind, and the three saw a flop of {j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}. It was checked to [Removed:550], who bet out 16,000. Kroon opted for a check raise to 36,000, and that got the other player out of the hand. It was back to [Removed:550], and he thought it over for a bit before reraising to 86,000. Kroon moved all in for his last 320,000, and [Removed:550] made the call.

[Removed:550]: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Kroon: {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The players had to wait for the cameras to get set up, and Kroon started joking with [Removed:550]. "I run good in these situations, just so you know. The ten of hearts always come." The cameras got set up, and the {3-Clubs} hit the turn, giving [Removed:550] the nut flush draw, and taking one of Kroon's outs away. "Ten of hearts always comes on the river." The whole table got a laugh out of that, and the river brought the {j-Spades}. Kroon doubled checked that he hadn't found a way to split the pot, and he wished everyone luck, shook everyone's hand, and headed for the payout desk.

After taking down that bounty, [Removed:550] is now up to over a million, and is one of our bigger stacks as we crack the top 500 players left.

Sheikhan C-Bets, Folds

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Shawn Sheikhan raised to 17,000 from middle position, and Zachary Weiss in the hijack was the lone caller. The flop could hardly have been more coordinated: {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Sheikhan bet 25,000, and Weiss raised to 60,000. Sheikhan hurled his cards into the muck, leaned back and cursed loudly.

Tonnesen Takes Pot on Turn

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Ryan Jones opened to 12,000 in middle position, Guillaume Rivet called on his direct left, Jody Garaventa called in the cutoff, and Martin Tonnesen called on the button. Steve Yang called out of the big blind as well, and the flop fell {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. The action checked to Tonnesen, who fired out 28,000, and only Jones and Rivet called.

The turn was the {q-Spades}, Jones and Rivet checked again, and Tonnesen tossed out 80,000. This time the bet got through, and he took down the pot.

Abdel Rahim Shoves On Bardah

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

From under the gun, Muhammad Abdel Rahim raised to 13,000. Gold bracelet winner Ronnie Bardah was in the next seat and reraised to 34,000. Play then folded back to Abdel Rahim. He moved all in for 153,000, which sent Bardah into the tank. After a bit of time, Bardah folded, and Abdel Rahim picked up the pot.

Bord Busts

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
James Bord
James Bord

James Bord found himself all in holding {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} against Mikhail Petrov's {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

The board ran out {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Petrov's full house was enough to send the WSOP Europe Champion to the rail.

Curtis and Grospellier Double Through Each Other

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Joshua Curtis and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier just doubled through one another in a rapid succession of hands.

The first saw Grospellier open for a raise to 13,000 from middle position, then it folded around to a short-stacked Curtis in the big blind. Curtis has some supporters on the rail, and when he announced he was reraising all in with his stack of 74,000 total, they began to shout for his cause.

Grospellier thought for just a few moments, then shruggingly called the reraise, thereby committing a little over half of his stack.

Grospellier had {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades} and needed help versus Curtis's {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Spades} to provide a sweat, but the turn was the {4-Spades} and the river the {K-Spades}, and Curtis's supporters had new reason to cheer.

Soon, though, it was Grospellier all in before the flop for his last 60,000 or so with {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades} versus Curtis's {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. The board came {2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}, and ElkY survived. Both, however, continue to sit with short stacks.

End of the Road for Mizrachi

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Michael Mizrachi Eliminated
Michael Mizrachi Eliminated

Michael Mizrachi won't be making another November Nine this year. According to former tablemate Brandon Meyers, Mizrachi committed his last 40,000 preflop with {K-}{J-} and couldn't improve against Paul Taylor's {A-}{K-}.

Mizrachi's empty seat has been filled by two-time bracelet winner Dutch Boyd.

Robinson Busts Dandrea

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We arrived at the table with the flop showing {9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Charles Nelson Robinson had his {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} tabled, and Raymond Dandrea was showing his {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

Robinson was in front with his set, and had Dandrea covered. The {q-Spades} and {q-Hearts} completed the board, moving Robinson up to 650,000, and sending Dandrea to the rail.

Kenney KO'd by Williams

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Kevin Williams opened to 15,000 and Bryn Kenney three-bet shoved the button for his last 129,000. Williams called, the ESPN cameras rushed over and the cards were tabled.

Williams: {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Kenney: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

A classic flip was to be had, and when the dealer dropped a {4-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, Williams took the lead.

With Kenney needing to hit a two-outer to stay alive, the {10-Hearts} on the turn and {J-Clubs} on the river would ensure he hit the rail as Williams moved to roughly 1,215,000 in chips.
