A Silent Mouth

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Mike Matusow's Lips Are Sealed Here on Day 1A of the Main Event
Mike Matusow's Lips Are Sealed Here on Day 1A of the Main Event

We passed by Mike "The Mouth" Matusow's table and noticed the normally animated and excitable player silently playing a pot.

The action, or inaction in this case, occurred when Matusow opened for 750 from late position, receiving two calls from the hijack and the big blind.

The flop fell {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} and both Matusow and the big blind checked to the cutoff, who fired out a bet of 800. Matusow quickly folded without saying a word, and he dipped below the starting stack.

Castaneda Can't Beat Kings

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Facing a raise to 725 pre flop, Dana Castaneda made the call from the button to see a {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop fall.

Greeted with a 900-chip bet, Castaneda called, and when the {Q-Clubs} landed on the turn she called a 2,225-chip bet.

The {10-Spades} completed the board on the river and Castaneda's opponent tossed in 5,100 which Castaneda immediately called before mucking at the sight of her opponent's {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}. Castaneda is now down to 23,275.

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Paul Magriel
Paul Magriel

Paul "X22" Magriel, a noted mathematician and games theorist, has been knocked out of the 2013 WSOP Main Event. Magriel shipped all in for his last 6,150 and got called in two spots. Magriel showed {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, and both other players had pocket eights. The board ran out {3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, pairing Magriel's three but not giving him enough help. His opponents split the pot, and Magriel made his exit.

Located in Amazon Purple we find Abdulaziz Almashal sitting with a very healthy 119,500 and Javier Etayo sitting with an equally impressive 113,100.

Fleyshman Doubles

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Lee Childs, a former World Series of Poker final tablist, raised to 1,200 from late position. The player to Childs' direct left flat-called (hijack), only to see Dan Fleyshman three-bet to 5,175 from his seat in the small blind. Childs folded but the player in the hijack called.

The flop ran out {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and Fleyshman immediately moved in for his last 15,000. The hijack tanked for almost a minute before calling.

Fleyshman flipped over the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} in front of him and his opponent the {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. The turn and river were the {5-Spades} and {Q-Hearts} respectively, the hijack commenting how he would have lost anyway because he put Fleyshman on pocket queens.

A Few More Counts

Heinz Halted by Rivered Straight

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Pius Heinz
Pius Heinz

Our PokerNews camera man caught the recent elimination of Pius Heinz.

The board read {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and all the money went in on the river with Heinz tabling {7-Hearts}{6-}, but was outdone by his opponent's {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} for a rivered Broadway straight.

Demidov Rebounds

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Ivan Demidov raised to 700 from late position, and both blinds called. All three players checked down all three streets as the board rolled out {8-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The big blind showed ace-high, and Demidov asked if any pair was good as he turned over {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. His pair won the pot, and after dropping down early, Demidov is back up to his starting stack.
