Hand #29: Nicolas Faure who raised to 120,000 and Sergey Lebedev made the call from the big blind. Lebedev checked the {3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop and Faure bet 105,000. Lebedev called the bet and checked the {k-Hearts} turn. Faure checked behind and the {10-Diamonds} was dealt on the river. Both players checked and the hands were tabled. Dan Owen is a retired toymaker, and even though he’s the oldest player at this final table (at 60), his former profession reflects a youthful exuberance and attitude that is serving him well in poker. PokerNews caught up with Owen, who is among the chip leaders, near the end of dinner break:

PokerNews: You’re one of the few people at the table who’s not a professional poker player. Can you tell us what you do?

Dan Owen: I’m retired. I ran a toy company in my real life, and I was lucky enough to retire when I was 50 years old. And obviously you need hobbies, so I play a lot of gold and I started playing Texas Hold’em. I love the game, so even though I’m not a professional, I play a lot, and I’ve been playing a lot for about 10 or 12 years now.

Recently, there’s been a lot made in news and media about poker being a young man’s game. You're the oldest player left in this tournament. Do you think that will affect your chances as the night wears on.

It’s funny, most of the guys I play with and hang out with are 20-30 years younger than I am. It’s all cool. It’s good. I’m still able to think and play poker and enjoy it. So actually, I like the young flavor of the game.

Do you feel like you’re in a good spot against the younger guys at the table?

Yeah. It’s been a roller coaster day. I came in short-stacked and on the second hand I doubled up with a royal flush, which you don’t get very often. I built my chips up at the other table all the up to about 1.5 million, got down to one big blind and then double up twice before we moved over to the final table, and then I doubled up on the second hand I was there, so I’m in good shape. If I’m not the chip leader, I’m close, and I definitely have plenty of chips.

Do you have any special plans for if you win?

Probably nothing that’s out of the ordinary. You know, everybody tells you it’s life changing and everything, and I’ll enjoy it, but playing poker is just one of the things I do.

Hand #25: Sergey Lebedev raised to 100,000, and Maglio was the only caller. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}, and Maglio check-called 110,000. Both players checked the {6-Hearts} turn, and a {4-Hearts} arrived on the river. Maglio bet 175,000, and Lebedev called. His {a-}{3-} was good against {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Hand #26: Nicolas Faure moved all in after action folded to him. Nobody called.

Hand #27: Sebastien Comel raised to 100,000, and Faure called him. Arieh raised to 375,000 from the cutoff. Comel shoved all in for 1,090,000, and Arieh called.

Hand #15: Dan Owen raised to 105,000. He took the pot.

Hand #16: Levi raised to 80,000, and Nicolas Faure called from the button. Vincent Maglio squeezed to 280,000, and he won the pot.

Hand #17: Sergey Lebedev raised to 80,000, and he was called by Nicolas Faure and Dan Owen. Owen checked the {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop, and Lebedev checked behind him. Faure bet 90,000, and both opponents folded.

Hand #18: Maglio raised to 80,000 on the button, and Nikolaus Teichert reraised to 250,000 in the big blind. Maglio called, and the players saw a flop of {j-Clubs}{q-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Teichert checked, and Maglio bet 175,000. Teichert conceded the pot.

Hand #19: Levi pushed all in for 650,000. Nobody called him.

Hand #20: Maglio raised to 80,000, and he was called by Teichert. Sebastien Comel moved all in for 1,000,000. Maglio folded, and so did Teichert.

Finally, A Flop

Hand #8: Nicolas Faure raised to 85,000 from the cutoff and Josh Arieh, the button, reraised to 215,000. When action returned to Faure he folded and Arieh took the pot.

Hand #9; Arieh raised to 85,000 from the cutoff and Maglio made it to 225,000. Arieh ended up folding when the action returned to him.

Hand #10: Sebastien Comel raised to 85,000 and it folded around.

Hand #11: Maglio raised to 80,000 and it folded around.

Hand #12: Arieh raised to 85,000 and it folded arounded.

Hand #13: Maglio raised to 80,000 and Dan Owen, Nikolaus Teichert and Sergey Lebedev came along. The {5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop was dealt and Lebedev checked to Maglio who bet 205,000. Owen makes the call and both Teichert and Lebedev folded. Both Maglio and Owen checked the {4-Spades} turn and the {6-Diamonds} river. Owen showed {k-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a pair of tens and Maglio mucked his hand.
