Males Spikes Ace

Nível 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Pete Males opened to 40,000 only to have Jonathan Cohen three-bet the cutoff to 100,000. Once the action returned to Males, he moved all in for 585,000 and after careful consideration Cohen made the call.

Males: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Cohen: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

Just like the earlier hand, Cohen would lose another flip with jacks as the board ran out {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} to see him send down to 750,000 as Males climbs to 1.2 million in chips.

River Run Good for Maniotis

Nível 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Aritu Raekorpi opened to 40,000 only to have Vassilios Maniotis move all in for 235,000 from late position. With the action on Jonathan Cohen in the big blind, he moved all in and Raekorpi folded.

Maniotis: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Cohen: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{K-Clubs} to see Maniotis spike gold on the river to stay alive and move to 540,000 as Cohen slipped to 1,320,000 in chips.

Slow Goings

Nível 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Since the re-draw, play has been underway for roughly 20 minutes, and currently it has been the slowest 20 minutes of the whole tournament.

There have been a few shoves here and there and the occasional flop, but players seem to be content to just settle in to their new table and hope to navigate up the pay jumps that now chance every three spots before reaching the final table.

Bust, Bust, Bust

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

In a flurry of less than two minutes we have lost two players.

Firstly losing Jonathan Guez in 21st, Jeffrey Johnston tripled up then fell in 20th while Erwann Pecheux was eliminated simultaneously.

Watson Cripples Johnston; Takes Huge Chip Lead

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

Jeffrey Johnston limped in from middle position only to have Heath Mendelsohn three-bet to 62,000 from the cutoff. With the action on Mike Watson on the button he cold four-bet to 116,000 as the action passed back to Johnston.

Johnston paused for a few moments before making it 266,000 to force Mendelsohn out of the pot as Watson pushed all in for 678,000 and Johnston called.

Johnston: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Watson: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

With Watson looking at a 1.4 million-chip pot, the {Q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} board ensured he claimed the chip lead as Johnston was left crippled with less than a big blind.

Schoonover Sent Packing

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Joshua Schoonover - 22nd place
Joshua Schoonover - 22nd place

Joshua Schoonover moved all in for his last 33,000 from under the gun and both David Vamplew and Diego Zeiter made the call as the dealer fanned a {Q-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop.

Both players checked as the {4-Hearts} landed on the turn and Zeiter bet out 45,000 to force Vamplew to toss his cards into the muck.

Schoonover: {J-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Zeiter: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

With Schoonover drawing dead, the {Q-Hearts} on the river sealed the deal and sent him out in 22nd place as Zeiter moved to 587,000 in chips.
