Welcome back to the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino and the 2013 World Series of Poker for Day 4 of Event #53: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em!
Although expected to finish late this morning, three players remained as play closed for the night with Scottish pro David Vamplew leading with 5,345,000. Snapping on my heels is Brett Shaffer who is lucky to still be alive after cracking Vamplew's aces with queen-nine.
Rounding out the rear is Finnish player Arttu Raekorpi who also had a great chance to take control of the tournament before losing ace-king to the ace-queen of Vamplew.

Hand #175: With the button on Arttu Raekorpi, he folded before Brett Shaffer raised to 380,000 total with David Vamplew making the call as the flop fell

Shaffer pushed out a continuation-bet of 250,000 before Vamplew raised to 620,000 from the large blind. With the action back on Shaffer, he re-checked his hole cards before pushing them to the muck to award Vamplew the pot.
Hand #176: The action passed to David Vamplew in the small blind and he pushed in a stack of 25,000-denomination chips while announcing all in. Arttu Raekorpi paused for a few moments and then released his hand.
Hand #177: David Vamplew opened to 320,000 and collected the blinds and antes.

Shaffer opened to 320,000, before Vamplew raised it up to 750,000. Shaffer thought about his decision for nearly three minutes, before just opting to make the call. The flop came down

Hand #182: From the button Brett Shaffer raised to 320,000 and David Vamplew called to see a 
flop fall. Vamplew checked and Shaffer announced a bet of 325,000 which Vamplew called as the landed on the turn.
Vamplew checked again and Shaffer went into the tank for a minute before cutting out a bet of 600,000 to force a quick fold from Vamplew.
Hand #183: David Vamplew opened to 320,000 from the button and won the blinds and antes.
Hand #184: Brett Shaffer limped in from the button and David Vamplew exercised his option with a check to see the dealer spread a 
flop. Both players checked as the landed on the turn and Vamplew led for 180,000 before Shaffer bumped it up to 525,000. Vamplew paused for a few moments before releasing his hand.
Hand #185: David Vamplew opened to 320,000 and Brett Shaffer went into the tank for nearly two minutes before making the call as the 
flop was spread by the dealer. Shaffer checked and Vamplew bet 275,000 which was responded by a fold from Shaffer.

Shaffer dipped into the tank for close to five minutes before moving all in to prompt an insta-fold from Vamplew.
