2013 World Series of Poker
With the board reading ![]()

and around 26,000 in the pot, Greg Merson opted to move all in for his last 38,825 in chip. His opponent in the hand was Don Nguyen, who tanked over his decision for a few minutes, before finally making the call.
Merson reluctantly turned over his ![]()
for king-high, before Nguyen showed his ![]()
for two-pair, and the winning hand.
It is and early exit for Merson, who took down the $10,000 version of this event last year, before going on to be crowned the WSOP Main Event champion!

We caught up with Artem Litvinov and Matt Stout in a pot worth already 25,000 going to the river on a board of ![]()

The river dropped the

Next it was Litvinov's turn to tank. He thought about it for nearly a minute as well before checking behind. Stout turned up his ![]()
for ace high, but it was no good against Litvinov's ![]()

Just after Artem Litvinov and Matt Stout avoided a huge early cooler by choosing to play a flop instead, the two took to playing another giant pot just after.
Apparently, Stout was holding ![]()
against Litvinov's ![]()
and they got it all in preflop. He didn't catch up on the flop, turn, or river and he was sent home as one of the first casualties of the day.
This is a rather unfortunate turn for Matt Stout who told some of our tournament reporters that he was really looking forward to this event, especially after running deep in a six-handed event, earlier in the year.
Litvinov however is up big after cashing in for all of Stout's chips.

A short-stacked Chris Moorman opened to 675 from the button, before Niklas Heinecker bumped it up to 1,700. With the option back on Moorman, he moved all in for his last 9,000 in chips, as Heinecker’s cards quickly went into the muck.
Looking at both player’s stacks, it looks like the two might’ve already tangled once before, as Heinecker sits behind a stack over 130,000 in chips.

We didn't see how the money got in but Isaac Haxton was holding ![]()
against Dan Smith who was holding ![]()
. The board was showing ![]()

and with that, Haxton was counting out chips to send over to Smith.
With that, Smith, who had dropped a little since we had last seen him, doubled back up to around starting stack while Haxton was left with just 9,200 chips.

We caught up to Davidi Kitai and Faraz Jaka in a pot on the river. In the hand, Kitai had put out a bet of 6,200. After that Jaka put in a reraise to 33,100 and that sent Kitai in the tank. On the board was ![]()

.
He thought about it for roughly four minutes before he said, "I have a really big hand." Kitai thought about it for a little while longer before eventually deciding to fold his hand, face up. Kitai turned up the ![]()
before surrendering his chips, for a rivered two pair.
Jaka just collected the chips without giving Kitai any information about his own hand.
"Show the four of hearts," Matt Salsberg said to Jaka, who was also at the table.
"No one gives me credit for a big hand?" Jaka asked the table as he collected some new chips.

The player under the gun opened to 700, and was called by Tom Marchese in the hijack, as well as Niklas Heinecker on the small blind. The action was on Tim Adams, who raised it up to 3,800 from the big blind, forcing a fold from the original raiser. Marchese thought for a moment, before putting in another raise to 9,500. Heinecker got out of the way, before Adams took his time, and four-bet to 16,200 in chips. The bet quickly saw Marchese throw his hand in the muck, relinquishing the pot to Adams.
